But think it has very little effect on the meat. I cut my first set of tarsals off this year as well, threw em in a bag, and in the deep freeze. Maybe they will still stink and draw a big buck in next late season. Experimenting around. Pretty sure tarsals have no effect on the meat as well. I am by no means a expert tho, Only been hunting hard 4 years now. Learn somethin new every day

You could imagine someone killing their buck limit then trying to pass a field dressed buck off as a doe.
