Killed a 2 and a half year old with 14 on his head in a cutover several years ago made me sick when i got to him that deer would have easily been in the 160's a couple years later .

LOL!...sounds like my dad....we debate that frequently. He has a deer he calls a 12pt, but I call it a 9 with stickers. I told him the only "sticker/kicker" that I count as an individual point would be split brow tines. My preference is if it's an individual point growing tradtionally/upwards from the main beam, then it's a "point". Drop tines are "drop tines", and sideways growing points or points growing from another "tine" are just stickers. So I call his deer a 9pt with stickers (it's 5x4 with 3 stickers on the 5 side). But shucks, ain't a hill I'd die on, we can call it what we like!

10 is the mark for me... Can't break the 150" mark or 10 points...

14 & 13 are the two with the most points. Both were old, main-frame 10's with kickers and trash. I don't guess I have ever killed a truly non-typical buck.

A bunch over 8pts through the years. Too many to remember honestly....

Both my step-sons have killed big non-typicals. I think that it has to do with the different areas that we hunt. They are a lot more common where they hunt.

It all depends on who shot it. If you shoot it you can count all the stickers. If your buddy kills it, it is your responsibility to inform him that stickers don't count.

Now that I think about it... I've killed every multiple of points from a 12pt down to a 1pt

3-9 points for me. 1 is on the wall. 1 is at taxidermist. 1 I should have give another year.

I've killed a 10 point,5-6 nine points,And a bunch 8 or less,my uncle has killed a 17 point 2 13 points I know of and no telling how many between 8 and 12,my buddies grandad has a buck that he says has 42 points but I can't tell from the pics,it was killed in pineapple back in the 70's

I had a similar experience with a 12 point. If I had been thinking, I would have whistled or grunted to get him to turn so I could see the spread. As it was, he had his nose glued to a doe's rump, and all I could see was a forest of points. Turned out to be one I had previously let walk. It taught me a very valuable lesson in patience and self-control.
