I've killed a pile of deer with my bow over the last couple of years with several different broadheads. I read a very interesting article from Dr. Ed Ashby who has been hunting the African deadly 5 over the last couple of decades and he is an avid 2 blade fixed b/h kinda guy. If this guy hunts these deadly animals with a recurve and compound bow from the ground I figured a 2 blade would probably be good for me. I'm gonna give these landsharks a try. They look pretty deadly. I actually hunted with a tv personality hunter who killed a deer with this b/h while I was there and I was very impressed with the damage they caused. Has anybody on here shot this b/h? How is the flight out to 60 yards?

I shot em for years in a compound, the 160 screw-in head.

One year I killed 11 deer with em, ten fell in sight of the stand, one made it just out of sight. Best head for killing deer imho.

better make sure that bow is PROPERLY tined if yer going to shoot em. I had no problems with my bow out to 40, never tried a 60 yard shot with em.

No problem with the bow tuning. I'm pretty anal when it comes to my bow being right. I appreciate the information. I'll post up later in the year when I get everything set up and let everybody know what I think.

I shot them about 15 or 16 years ago. I used the 100gr. version that had the bleeder blades. They did a number on deer. I'm pretty good at sharpening knives and broadheads, but those jokers were tough to sharpen back then. I've since gotten better stones and such so it may not be an issue now. I've still got probably a dozen or so around here somewhere.

Sonny, I took a six inch piece of alum shaft with insert, and wrapped with rubber wrap for a grip. Screw in the head. Use a round diamond file and yer razor sharp in seconds....

Ive been using Landsharks for 24 years. I started out with 125 and switched to 100 about 7 years ago.I ve killed every deer and hog with them but a few. They fly and tune well. They are easy to sharpen and cut good holes with lots of blood.I use a Accu Sharp and then a ceramic rod to sharpen. And then strop on a piece of leather.

Same thing here as Shaw said. They are tough for me to sharpen.I shoot the 165'5 out of my long bow.And I shot them with 3" feathers out of my compound and they flew great.

Believe I'm going to pull mine out and see if I can put an edge on them now.

Great Broad heads. Hard to beat the old Land sharks or Zwicky's. What was the other I think they were called Snuffers they were the fixed 3 blades, solid frame heads, they were some tough heads.

I use a ceramic stick you get out of industrial bulbs and they put an awesome edge on them.

If you think the land sharks are bad you should look at the tree sharks. The Simmons heads carry a nasty reputation for big wound channels with lots of blood.

I killed quite a few deer with landsharks when I was in college. Great heads.

I've had great success with Landsharks.....you won't find a tougher bh and I've never had many go far. They will bust through bone too !
