Fished Sunday the crappie have been really on around piers in 5-7ft of water. On Sunday I did see some folks catching crappie in canoe creek channel in 12 ft. Bass had moved up in sloughs but seemed to move out with some cold nights. Caught some fish on rip rap banks look for sunny rocks. Water temp was 55

Thanks for the report kutter. I am fishing a tourney down there next weekend and we are launching from the Hwy 77 ramp. Got any tips or bait suggestions for a newbie that is fishing down there as a co-angler?

I am fishing it Friday and that is my favorite area where I grew up. I believe you have a better chance of catching 5 pounders up river around city park. Fishing ledges and cuts near the main channel. I hear lots of people talking about a-rigs and red eye shad but I fished lay last week and we caught them on rapala dt6 in about 7 feet of water. But Sunday will be my first time in that area this year. I will try to post Friday night

Ok thanks. I am not sure where my partner will be going but he did mention heading up river. Hopefully with your weekend report we can put a few in the boat.

Neeley was still a little muddy today. I fished from 2-5 never really felt like I found the shad. Did catch one on a jig and one on a rattle trap on points close to deep water. I could really see fish changing a great deal over next 7 days. If I were in a tment I'd head toward city park and fish ledges and cuts all day

That would work year round on Neely. If a tourney put in at City Park a lot of tourneys could be won without cranking the big motor other than to cross the river and hit the other side.

I'd be curious to know if y'all are on fish shallow yet at Neely? Fished there twice in the last two weeks, water was dirty, all we could catch fish on was football jigs and C-rigs still out on structure. We have wasted a bunch of time shallow up there both trips....NO action on A-rigs, rattle baits, crankbaits, nothing.

We were on the edge of Eternia, when the power of Greyskull began to take hold.

Our club tourney is Saturday morning. Weather report says high of 63 with a 60% chance of rain. Looks like some dirty water fishing but hopefully they are biting.

I have fished offshore at Neely until I'm blue in the face and never done any good.Always end up beating the bank. Got any tips?

We did quite well in our club tournament on Saturday. We caught all our fish in shallow pockets in about 3-5 ft of water. The only thing we could get a bite on was a square bill crankbait around structure and our best 5 went right around 20lbs with our big fish being a 4.20lb largemouth.
