Do I need to come drive you around so you can stand in the back of the truck Na, I am saving that "stand" for you this sept. Good idea. That's more of a deer stand anyway

Yes those turkeys will do some silly things. I had two gobblers and 9 hens within 20 steps of my SUV in IL last year. I had been on the back side of the property trying to roost a bird. I was headed back to the truck an saw them before they saw me. I watched to two gobblers strut for over an hour around my SUV until they went to roost. One saw last his last sun rise the next morning. B do you have any more OOS hunts planned?

I second that motion. Why is it that one day you hear a gob firing off 50x in a morning and the next day all you hear is crickets? Welcome to my hunt this morning. Dr. B

Dr. B Cause you made a plan for him yesterday and then got on the internet and told everybody about it. I thought you had been doing this long enough to know better than that

I swear if a truck isnt moving or someones in it and the walk up on it they could care less about a truck. On the other hand now if your driving down a county road and see one and stop the truck theyll run like they have been shot at (because they prolly have) I would say they don't care about unmoving trucks. I have killed a couple that were standing within 30 yds of my truck, seen them walk past the bumper less than 10' away and shot them while leaning on the back bumper (called up)! I have parked under roosted gobblers and had them gobble and fly down within sight of truck. I have no problem setting up within sight of truck if necessary.
I swear by my life and my love of it that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine
