Bream heads have actually worked best. They like the head better than the body. Soak them suckers in rotten taters and you'll be amazed how much better they work. You'll start to just use taters.
Get the F out of the BATFE. The F is guaranteed by the US Constitution. Those other letters are not.

I like the little small red taters cut into quarters. Put them in a ziplock and let them sit in the sun for several days (if you dip, throw a little 'Hagen in with them). I guarantee you will catch more catfish than you ever have.

How do you keep rotten mushy taters on a hook? Same a chicken livers. If they are too mushy, you can wrap them in panty hose. Panty hose works for livers too.
