Never owned one before. Thinking super Redhawk or black hawk. Would be open to anything really. Anybody have anything?

I have a like new S&W 629-4 44 magnum. 6 1/2 inch barrel. I kinda think it has never been fired. Comes with plastic case, holster, two full boxes of ammo and two speed loaders. Been asking $800 but if an Aldeer member wants it I would take $750.

That's a good looking rig. I have a 44 mag in a Super Redhawk. I've taken a couple deer at 100 yards.

Yea I traded for it and really have no use for it. Already have a 7mm08 pistol. It is a fine weapon and I don't even want to shoot it, it looks so good.

You are a better shot than I am. I had a Super Redhawk with 9.5" barrel and scope and couldn't hit a barn. I know it was the shooter and not the gun. smile

I don't plan on shooting far. I'm guessing inside of 50 yards. I figure it will depend on how confident I am after some range time. Looking at the 629 s&w the barrel is 6.5 inches. The ruger is 7.5. How much difference does that make. Not trying to start anything but which one would be the better gun. I don't know anything about pistols so please keep that in mind.

Back when I was able to shoot I killed several deer and a few hogs with 629.

I have a S&W .460 XVR I would sell. You can plink with .45lc or drop anything in the world with either .454 or .460. It's like three calibers in one gun. $1000 firm.

I think mine is 7.5". I killed an antelope with an Encore 308 at 140 yards. Pistol hunting with a scope is tough. I don 't do it much anymore.

I have no idea from first hand experience but I found these figures about 240 grain Hornaday ammo......
6.5" =1271 fps
7.5" = 1322 fps

Which would be 51 FPS difference. I don't know if that helps you any?

I've got a T/C encore pistol in a 7-30 waters if you are interested in something like that. Is stainless, has a scope of some sort on it, I will dig it out and look and see what model scope it has on it if you are interested

Hey John. if you are thinking of a new one take time to look at the .41 mag.
and look at the super blackhawk hunter. it may save you a little, and my blackhawk is easier on the wrist than my redhawk.
dont ask me why. and if you read on the .41 youll see. its pretty impressive. i took an 8 point at 100 yds. I was on a bench in the shooting house. I cant do it from my tree stand.
