Pros-The hottest youth bat since the old Combat B2's. Probably hotter. Takes a while to break in but when broke in good it is hot. My son has one and the ball jumps off of it. I know a few in our league had theirs rolled and they were super hot as well.

Cons-price

My son has the youth big barrel Mako 1 piece. It was 149 new.

They are good bats, but if your kid has power...they may be too light IMO.

Look at the Worth Prodigy Legit.

My son loves his. It is a hot bat but does take around 150 hits or so before it really wakes up. The cons we have is the outside layer cracks rather quickly. Easton told me that it will not hurt the strength of the bat, but our umpires check bats before every game. They will not let us use them with these cracks! We are on our 3rd bat this year and allstars has just started. Easton has been very good to us tho and has replaced our bats with no questions!

Not worth the money in my opinion. We have a Senior league and a BBCOR and they are OK but not worth what they cost. I went to the SEC baseball tournament and saw only one player using the MAKO so that should tell you something. Granted the teams use what ever brand their sponsor is but the ones using Easton were not using them. The good thing about them is they don't dent.

Dixie Youth. It would have to be a 2 1/4 barrel and i believe the smallest i seen was a 28/17.

We have never had one, but I know several kids that do. They are very hot, but, don't last.

Man things have changed, I remember the bat you used was the one in the big green duffel bag that the coach got out of the back of his truck. Lol

It is a hot bat, but I refused to pay $300 for a bat for a 9 year old. I went with the Easton S500 at $70, and used some of the savings on a couple of batting lessons.

At the end of every practice the team has a home run derby with each player getting 10 hits. When my son hits with one of his buddies Mako, he probably gets a few extra feet out of it.

I'm extremely satisfied with the $70 bat and $90 worth of hitting lessons. Call me ornery, but I chose to explain to my son that kind of money was out of line for a bat. He agreed.

If you can wait a little while, keep an eye out in the fall. You can buy a last year's model at a good discount.

I'm around a lot of youth baseball, about 75 games this yr. I wouldn't get one for my son just because of the durability issues with them. 2 kids on our 11-12 team bought them and they were crapped out ( one just busted like a bean pod) in 2 weeks of playing. Both kids used them for only a couple of weeks and then started using other team mates bats. Demarini Voodoo Overlords are pretty sweet bats from what I have seen, also the Easton XL1 are quality bats. But, proper form and technique FAR outweighs the construction of a bat. A good hitter can hit a ball with a $25 bat. We have a kid on our team with 9 home runs to prove it. 3 were over 300' by an 11 yr old and using an inexpensive Rawlings bat.

He is serious. They was an ad on CL a couple days ago where a guy from Georgia was traveling around the state rolling youth bats for $25 each. I haven't ever seen the rule on it but i'm pretty sure it is illegal to tamper with a bat.
