Well, I had plans for another lesson which I had been thinking about yesterday, and in a dream. It is a tough subject, and I'm not yet bold enough to approach it, but hopefully next week.

This is one of my earlier devotions from last year, and one of my favorite verses, Matthew 6:34. I will add before the scripture, as to add to the meaning and context.

Matthew 6:25-34 (NIV)

Do Not Worry

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?

28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Notice, it doesn't read we will be given everything, just what we need. Also notice the most important thing, one must be have the Lord Jesus as his/her personal Savior first, before these things will take place.

Do you have lack of worry? Do you know Jesus?

Heavenly Father,

Forgive me of failing to deliver this morning, and continue to guide my path in what to say and write. Help me to be bold and proclaim your Word, every bit of it.

Thank You for Your salvation we have in Your son Jesus, and the eternal home we have awaiting. Anoint my Brothers and Sisters and pour Favor upon them and their households. Bless them financially, physically, mentally, emotionally, and Spiritually. May Your will be done, and may it be to Your glory, and honor.

For it is in Jesus name we ask and pray these things, Amen!!

God Bless,
David B.

Good stuff here my brother.

While I do agree that the Lord isn't some kind of Santa Claus who gives us everything we wrongly desire, we must remember that God does much more than just give us the bare necessities.

The Lord gives us all things richly to enjoy. We are just not to get caught up in , the pride of life, the lust of the eye, or the lust of the flesh.

Luke 6:38 tells us how the Lord gives to us when we give, pressed down, shaken together, and running over. Look at Peter who gave unto the Lord his boat as a pulpit and received a boat sinking load of fish, his income. Look at the little boy's loaves and fishes. He gave his lunch and I am convinced he received in return the 12 baskets full. Even in the OT in II Kings 4, the woman not only received enough oil to free her sons and pay the debt but to "live off the rest".

Great post, worry is just fear plain and simple. Most people don't realize how much thier lives are controlled by worry, fear, stress. When we don't trust God we try to make things happen ourselves, then we wonder why god didn't help us. I've been there a thousand times.

Just got to read this for today. Thank you and amen. I would like to also encourage you to be bold for the Lord and write what he lays on your heart. Look forward to reading that one even if it hurts me a little. Iron sharpens iron and as long as the Word of God is given and received in love...no harm brother.

I have found myself reading this passage alot lately. It human nature to worry but everytime I read this my worrying goes away. We must remember that there is not a burden to heaven that the Lord cant carry and He will not give us more than we can handle. Our preacher said the other day in his message that The Lord sees us to it and will see us through it. all we have to do is ask Him to carry our burdens. Great devotion and thanks for posting.
