Hey guys, a friend of mine was showing off his AR he got at a gunshow last week. I like it and was wanting to get opinions from some of you that are more versed in this area than I. I've never had or shot an AR but I think I want one eventually. He purchased a Tactical Weapons Solutions TWSAR004 You can see the gun HERE . What do you guys think of this gun? The price isn't bad considering all it comes with. Would this be a good AR for someone to buy? Give me your opinions and if you have alternatives, please list which ones and why. Thanks.

Way too much money for a no name brand AR and you don't need all that other over priced Chinese made junk attached to it. Go Here and start reading if you want good info on the AR15 rifle.

After reading AR15.com, Do not rule out building your own. It is very simple with todays components. There is an amazing selection of Uppers, lowers, barrels, and stocks for AR's. You can get an AR15/M16 combo wrench for under $20, and a headspace guage for under $10. The combo wrench and headspace guage will be the only tools required.
New Rifle Headspace: 1.4646" to 1.4706" SAMMI headspace gauges to use: 1.465" and 1.470"
Unsafe Rifle Headspace: 1.4736" Use the Colt M16/AR15 Field Gauge: 1.4736" or, The US military gauge: 1.4730”
Note: The Forster/SAAMI "No-Go" gauge measures 1.467"

Thanks for the tips guys. I've been looking for the last week. I'm fine with taking a bit of time on this purchase.
I think I'd like to buy a complete AR, unless it's just stupid cheap to build one.
I've been eying the Spikes Mid Length AR. I know I want a flat top, other than that the jury is still out.

The Spikes is a great rifle you will not be disappointed with it if you decide to buy it.
