I'm changing sights this year, from Apex Axim 4-pin. Has anyone seen or used one that has a rear sight, kinda like a pistol or rifle?
What do you recommend?

After talking to PerchJerker and reading reviews I found a NIB Predator IV pendulum sight for 45$ shipped on Archery Talk. Figured I'd give it a shot. It's not on the bow yet, but will be in the next couple of months to practice with before the season. You're not too far away. When I get it on, if you're curious, feel free to come check it out.

Single pin HHA slider. I wouldn't recommend losing the peep sight.

I used a single pin slider for the first time this past season, and I love it. I have the sword centurion, but I'm sure most all of them are similar. I doubt I would ever go back to a multi-pin sight.

Why do you want to do away with your peep ?

What do you recommend? There are several of them available, a little hard to find, and I haven't used a peep in about 35 years. I made me one back when the compounds became popular and I realized I needed a sight of some sort. I shot my compound by instinct when they first became popular, just like with the long bow.

To be honest, if it wasn't for taking shots past 25 yards, I wouldn't use a peep or a sight.

Why do you want to do away with your peep ? Was hoping that eliminating the peep, would be more forgiving, Plus my eyesight is not as good. Mainly Just wanting to try some options and see what suits me the best.....

I've been using a Savage Pendulum for several years. It's deadly accurate from 10 to 40 yards, depending on height & slope. I like the pendulums because it requires little "thought" and I certainly don't need any unnecessary distractions.

Mainly Just wanting to try some options and see what suits me the best..... If you have problems seeing through a peep sight, go to a bigger hole. I align my peep circle with the circle on my sight housing.

I've become a big fan of the vertical pin setup myself, allows me to get on the animal quicker. I use a Trophy Ridge and I love it.

How far out do you want to shoot? If its past 30 or 40 yards, then go with Spot Hogg.
Mine has 7 pins and I shoot it out to 85 yards for 3D practice. Makes 30 or 40 yards a chip shot.
BTW, I'm nearsighted and wear specs all day everyday.

i tried one of the rear sight set ups and didnt like it at all. i use a viper sight and love it. i also use the biggest peep i could find makes it easier in low light conditions plus i can center my round sight housing in my peep.

I tried a big peep when I started wearing glasses. It helped somewhat, but I felt like I was trying to center my pin in a 5 gal bucket.I bought a C-peep anp have used it ever since. It allows light in at lowlight and won't fill with water during a rain.
