Anybody got any pictures with weird or deformed looking racks? I'm new to the whole trail camera thing so I don't really know what is unusual or common.

I have a cowhorn spike on one of my pictures that is very odd. One of his antlers sticks up pretty normal, like about 12", and the other comes out, drops down around his head, and sticks out to he side or downward.

I also have another older buck that I feel should probably Be an eight point, but he has four points on one side and two on the other.

I understand it could be inbreeding or what their diet is. Sorry I don't have the pictures to post.

Does anyone else know about this or have pictures of your own to share?

Most of the time the deformed racks come from an injury either when in velvet, to his pedicle or an injury to his body. Genetics does effect some deer but most are from injuries.

This is one of the bucks on my hit list.

This one is palmated on his left side, right side is normal. I thought he was really cool so I got him mounted.

Nope. I haven't killed him. Have history with this buck, he was a perfect 8pt last year. See here. http://www.aldeer.com/forum/ubbthreads.p...880#Post1087880
Friend of mine got a picture of him on 1/1/15 about 2 miles away and he has broken his entire left side off. I hope he makes it and I get a chance at him next season.
