Would contact a local taxidermist. Will get a better/softer hide if they will send it off to a tannery.

Don't know where your located but I know Stann Gross in Hollywood does great work on everything he does.

I watched some videos on it today. It doesn't seem to be a hard concept when you tan using animal brains. It just looks like a ton of time.

Save yourself the heartache and just get a taxidermist to send it to a tannery. You will happy in the long run.

Oh, I didn't say I would do it. LOL. I would like to try on something small like a rabbit or raccoon or something.

It's really not bad getting a skin ready for the tannery. Just cut off the big chucks of meat and fat, split the tail out, and salt it till it dries. Pm me and I can give you a couple of people to call if your interested
