Maybe it is that only the second time I ever hunted out of one I had the bottom slip off and scared me when I was younger but I have been a little scared to try these again. I mostly hunt out of ladder stands or on the ground but have notice the deer see me sometimes before I see them. Was wondering if anyone makes any decently tall ladder stands or a recommendation of a really safe climber . Thanks guys

None of 'em are fool-proof so tie the bottom to the top and wear a safety harness and you'll be fine. I don't like the cheap ladder or loc-on stands in big box stores because they are made out of cheap crap. Bottom line is any of them can fail but if you have a harness on you're good.
If heights are your problem find a tree with good cover 15' off the ground and climb up in it and enjoys yourself

I was an old man fan I got about 10 years out of the only one I had before it was wore out. But the one I've felt safest in was the old buckshots
We will burn that bridge when we get there

API Grand Slam, used one for 15 years. Never had it slip ever. I've slept in the tree many a time in it.
only time it ever scared me I climbed a new tree in the dark one morning. When it got light I was 20' up a dead tree...dang that was a slllooooow climb down....
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

Treehunter is the safest climber I've ever used. It's the only one I have now. Digs into any tree very well, even slick barked hardwoods like hickory. AND it comes with a very handy way to keep top and bottom connected. AND AND they're made in Tennessee, not China! TreeWalkerTreeStands.com
