We had a club 1700 acres 12 members and it was a pain to deal with the members. This year we have 800 acres 4 members and everybody tells everybody everything. We share all our stands and it is awesome to be able to talk deer hunting with them. Everybody helping each other to get kids on a deer it has been do much fun. I would never be in a club again and I would never be in charge ever again. This year has healed my broken hunting spirit. Awesome!!

2 guys on 450 acres. Only issue is he is my first cousin. been hunting together for 5 years and never had a problem. One hunt he picks first on where to hunt. Next hunt is my time.

I never had any personal issues in a large club, I just found it difficult to kill deer. Sort of like someone said above, you get such a diversity of personalities, hunting styles, beliefs, standards, and so forth, that the place gets carelessly and needlessly pressured. I will always remember a guy who rode his 4wheeler through a cutover "looking for sign", to decide if he might want to hunt it that afternoon. So I too began to lease smaller blocks with one or two other guys who were like me.
We were on the edge of Eternia, when the power of Greyskull began to take hold.

The problem with large acreage clubs, is you have to have so many members, that you get away from having like minded people in the club. You have to search and advertise to get members and you take anybody that will write you a check. I hate large clubs and will never be in one again. Sounds like you have it figured out. Its better to have smaller acreages with fewer members. It cost more, but worth it in the end. So true... I am the president of two clubs, one with 18 members and 2300 acres. Former president just resigned after 5 or so years that is a pain at times to manage, feel like a baby sitter. The other is a 560 acre tract that my friend from LA and myself lease, no problems there. Mature bucks only, young kids of his and mine can pick and choose but they don't hunt it much. My land borders it on the west his on the east.
