I have a Meopta Meostar R1 3-10 x 50 MM on my T/C. Awesome scope!

The Zeiss Conquest are very good. The Meopta is better. The Bushnell Elite is a good scope at the lower price ranges. The Leupolds are fine but would be last on my list because, imo , there are much better choices for the same or less money. The Burris Black Diamonds that Jughead had for sale a few months back are very close to Meopta in clarity and low light and he was selling them less than $500.

X5 on the Conquest 3-9x50. I've got three and looking for another. X6 on the Conquest. I've got a 3.5-10x44 on my 7mm-08 and a 3-9x50 on my 270. Love both of them. I liked them so much I bought a pair of Conquest 8 x 30 binoculars.

Distance is not the reason I prefer them. Clarity and brightness in low light (late) conditions is why I like them.
From 8:00 am to 3:30 pm most scopes (of the same power, 3-9 for example) are ALMOST six and a half a dozen (roughly the same in old man speak).
It's from 4:00 pm to (cough, cough) the end of legal shooting light, is where the difference is most obvious. You can take, for example, a Tasco, a Bushnell, a Nikon, a Leupold, a Zeiss and a Kahles (assuming entry level or top of the line but the same grade of each manufacturer) and there may be 5-10 minutes difference each in how late you can see well.
There are MANY factors that go into this low light capability and other specifications (eye relief for example) that make a huge difference in scopes.
Low light clarity is the one that means the most TO ME. For the most part though, there is no free lunch. You will (usually) get what you pay for.
