Dang. Tough breaks. I hunt Skyline too. It's frustrating. I got a doe up there last year. We are on terrific sign but few deer show in daylight.

I forget which side is which. I'm hunting the trophy side where bucks have to have 4 pts on a side to be legal. I let one get away 730 opening day. Beating myself up over that a little now. We are walking in but nothing like you're talking about. Hadn't seen a ton of people but there were more in our general area today than we've been seeing. Folks off for holidays and wanting to hunt I guess. I'm not sure I know where Rutledge Point is.

Rutledge Point and Round Knob were part of my club when we had that leased. We didnt see jack on those mountains when there were only a few of us in a club hunting it. With all of that pressure...I would recommend going elsewhere. Those were the hardest two mountains to see deer on that I've ever hunted in 25+ years of hunting mountain deer. I think it was because that club hammered does way, way too hard for the amount of acreage we had for way too many years. That place sucked and In a way....I'm glad we lost our part so I would go elsewhere. We hunted zone B this morning and saw quite a few deer and very few people.

I know how to get from Rutledge point to round knob and back to Rutledge point and back to round knob....it's called chitarse Houdini gobbler. There is a main road that comes off Rutledge to get where you want to go....take 138 south and take the third and fourth main roads to the right and both will get you there.

you can only legally use a 4 wheeler on the roads you can drive a car on. making them useless. the game warden told me that you can use them to retrieve a deer if you get one and they will look the other way as long as you come back with a deer on the back.
there anywhere on skyline that u cant access with a 4 wheeler

The last few years the yellow foot traffic only signs have been taken down on many roads. There are plenty of places that you won't have a chance of a four wheeler coming anywhere around you. It's like fishing, when you go to the community holes you are going to have company. There are places you can walk walk 300 yds from your vehicle and hunt ground that never gets hunted.

I wouldn't without expressed permission to do so. Some have said you can ask property owners, but I just don't bother. I think they have enough to deal with trespassers and poachers, that I just can't bring myself to ask.
