I don't have one but I think its got more to do with them being held liable for a faulty scope.
If its a good scope I highly doubt there would be a problem. But I wouldn't .
Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

I have dipped quite a few scopes. I haven't had a single one screw up. That isn't to say that it won't happen. I do not warranty scopes. The finish will hold up fine. It isn't the finish that I'm not giving a warranty to. The finish has a warranty. If the finish screws up, I will redo it for free. Me dipping your scope and it leaking water into it or fogging up your glass from the inside...that I can't be held liable for. That is what has no warranty. That would be a manufacturing defect. Which they will not warranty if you have it submerged in water. Guys that have been dipping for years say they have about 2% that leak. I would guess that would be a cheap scope, but that is just speculation. I guess any of them have the potential of being defective.
Will track deer in Marengo, Greene, Sumter, Wilcox, Perry, Hale counties.

I've got a book called "Optics for the hunter" by John Barsness. In the book he says that he dips every scope he buys under water to test the seal. If it doesn't pass he sends it back to the manufacturer.
