That's what I use to think.

50 and 47. Boys are 27, 24, 21. I use to be able to come and go. But now our 3 yo grandson who has lived with us almost a year, needed parents. It was an adjustment to say the least, but my priorities have reverted back to a dad again. Love it.

I'm 51 and my wife is 51. Our daughter is 16. At church, school or community functions, we are the oldest parents many times, especially at church. We still participate and seem to get along fine with the couples younger than us. What seems to really hold us back is that my wife has severe psoriatic arthritis. Some of the younger couples shy away from us because it's like they don't know what to say or talk about. It really bothers my wife sometimes, but I always tell her to think about all the others that do come around and treat us just like we're one them. We are fortunate that there are a few more of these types. With that said, there are times we feel left out or uncomfortable because we aren't included or invited to some events. And we know, it's our age.

All yall that had kids younger did it the right way (assuming financially able). Having kids when you're older is just grinding. I'm 38 and with a 1 yr old and 5 yr old, I just don't have the patience and energy the younger parents do.

Those people your age with little kids are probably envious of your position ... being able to go hunt, fish, go out to dinner etc.

Wowee! I'm impressed, its hard some days with 3 so young, can't imagine 6! Any advice? Haha

Wow. You know what's causing that, right?

JUST kidding. Congrats on a big family. I am in awe of your management skills and (apparently limitless) patience. My 4yo little girl will put me in my grave by herself, probably when she starts dating. Can't even IMAGINE that. Lol

Yes, we know. That is why we have so many... and we are not Catholic, just passionate...

We have a managed chaos, at best. We are also blessed with awesome kids, especially our teenagers. Of any man that I would have to choose to work with me, my 15 year old son is at the top of the list. Also, I am blessed with an awesome wife that handles the majority of the homeschooling.

Man, I would have to get two more jobs to pay for that many kids. I don't see how you do it.

I will be 35 in a month and the wife is 36. Kids are 4 and 1 and it seems like most kids in their class have parents around our age. It is tougher to have a social life unless you have a great support system.

Both me and the wife are 45 and our daughter is 26. The nest is empty and life is good wink We always were the youngest parents in Church and other things so it was hard to find things in common with people our age but it all worked out because we both married our best friends smile

Life is too short to be small !!

I am blessed with a pretty good paying job. We have to remind ourselves at times that we have the money to pay for what we need, but not always what we want.

I'm 37 and wife is 38. Coming up on 17 years of marriage, son 13 and daughter 12. We're caught in the middle just like you. Folks our age have younger kids and our kids friends parents are mainly older than us.

But, we have a great group of parents that we hang out with from our kids sports teams. The kids will entertain each other while the parents get to cut up and enjoy adult conversation. Also, my wife and I seem to fit in better with the older parents. Most of our friends are in their mid 40s. Seems to be less drama and BS with the older crowd.
