Yup, its going good down this way. Driving after dark is also a lot more dangerous. I saw way too many tonight at 60mph.

I think the warmer weather we keep having is causing most of the activity to occur at night.

Our club has killed about one buck every day for the past week. No giants but some decent racks. A lot of folks seeing bucks but not necessarily chasing. I'm a little underwhelmed but other folks seem to be "racking" up in this last week.

In fact saw a 6pt and spike grouped back together yesterday. I've been seeing chasing and seeking during the last week on my end of the skreet.

It was 50/50 in our part of Bullock, Co. the last couple of days. Some does were being chased and some weren't.

Just be glad you get to hunt now when your deer normally rut. It could be great next year.
Deer just started chasing on our club and on our farm in the past few days. The club is in Blount county and the farm is in Marshall county.
We'll likely never have a Feb season this far north. I have a small tract that I hunt in Blount as well. I too believe that right now is the best time to hunt that property. I hunted the 27-29th of January and it was the worst 3 days I had there all year. All the trail cam pics we had the last two weeks of season we did not have 1 buck on cam. All the doe were still together.

It is totally opposite at our place. Our bucks are chasing 24/7 right now. Everyone is seeing bucks, large and small. We still have some big boys that don't even seem to be interested in breeding, even though they are still working scrapes. All you have to do is go the local processor and you will see and hear about one big buck after another being brought in right now. None of these deer would have been taken this season if they had not extended the season. My concern is that we may be losing too many good 4 and 5 year old breeder bucks, but I am sure there are others standing around waiting their turn at the helm.
