Run. Run as far away from the situation as you can, including her. Nothing but trouble sticking around with her. He hits her and you retaliate against him, you'll be the one going to jail. Tell her if she wants to get away from the situation, you'll help her. If not, she's on her own.

Or I would also recommend capitalizing on this situation and offer them the option of turning their strife into cold, hard, cash on the jerry springer show.

Everybody has problems of some sort. Just embrace them or leave. You aren't gonna get answers from anybody else but yourself bud.

In laws don't get better with time. Options are to walk away, stay and take their crap, stay and don't take their crap and end up either dead or in jail. White trash is like swamp water. No matter how hard you try it stays low, stinks, and pollutes whatever it touches. Either remove it, get away from it, or stay in it and get nasty. But don't think you can get in it up to your neck and not get the stink on you.

Roadkill that is spot on advice bud.My whole family is like that. That is the reason my wife and I moved 67 miles away from my nearest relative. My family IS the Jerry Springer show.If you love her then take the reigns and make a family BE the man of the house and set a pressidence right from the start with her and her family. My wife had to ask herself if she loved me enough to put up with their crap and she said yes.So I manned up and moved so I wouldn't be close.Distancing really does help.I also manned up by running my own household and not getting involved in any of their crap even when they try to drag me into it.That was 23 years ago and now they don't even bother with me anymore.

thumbup

She's 22, if she can't handle it or walk away herself, you need to RUN! Smart $ says that nut house is more likely to get worse than better.

My south Alabama family are good folks. Can't help but like them. But in the last three years there have been four suicides (most likely one of them was a murder), two or three in jail over meth, can't remember a female cousin over fourteen that didn't get pregnant before she was fifteen, can't recall how many new cars and mobile homes that " I let the bank take it back", was the normal disposition, in family lawsuits over property, countless "I'm not taking that from anyone even if he is my boss" so they quit/got fired, it just goes on and on. I loved my grand parents and aunts and uncles. I get along with my first cousins. Rest of them I will not let in the house. I, as do others here, know what we are talking about. It doesn't get better.

You don't know the whole story. Stay out of it. Tell your girlfriend to talk to a lawyer. Maybe she can put them under a bond of some type. The summer is just now getting hot, wait till it hits 100 or so and see how tempers fkare. You dont want this summer to ruin the rest of your young life, especially over a woman. If it was a dog it would be a different story.

Keep your powder dry and arms length from the flame, carry on.

Quoted for truth.

Don't do anything inside their home involving violence.

That is only asking to be locked up.

Run as far away from this situation, and thank us 5 years down the road.

The reason I asked how old you two were is to learn more about what you got going on. If she's 22 , that's plenty old enough to distance herself from this environment. Your 24 plenty old enough to realize this also. Some people just tend to feed off this kind of crap, play the victim, etc.
if you two have a good thing going be the bigger and better person and help her get away from this situation. Trying to be superman is going to put you in the same boat the family seems to be in now. TROUBLE!
