we might know each other. Hans had a fine daughter. lives in Nashville now. I think her baby sister may be your age. I heard she was finer than big sis I knew.
The Hamlett place is still mighty fine and a working farm best I can tell, trees for sure. I knew Jim pretty well and he died a couple of years ago. Still see the biggest deer every time Im down that way. 10 points just walk out in the road and wave at you!

at least peter's in law... selma and west dallas has no secrets and no strangers... True, since I can put a face to every name mentioned in this thread.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Ha! Y'all are killin me. I grew up just west of Selma. My family owned a lot of small businesses in Selma. I hunted molettes bend and Tolbert bottom on bogue chitto creek. I sure do miss it. If y'all are trying to start a Christian school it shouldn't be a problem. I went to Meadowview and that school sure aint what it used to be from what I've heard.

There was a gambling joint out at parkers grocery in Beloit and at Manie Etheridges spot around cahaba. I think Zanie M. ran a game. Of course there was the hunting camp near Meredith's landing where big games happened and virgins were converted. That got held up one night and Dick B fell or jumped from the balcony. If it is the restaurant owner initials HS I'll never tell- I don't want to get shot! Is he still alive? Or. You talking about LM, TT,or BK... I think duck h was also running a game. Law office upstairs on broad. I seem to remember some action down the road in Safford too. The sho nuff "profeshnals" went to green gables around faunsdale.Saw actors and country music singers in that joint. for you younguns out there http://www.scout.me/green-gables--near--uniontown-al/e-76635319

Groundchecker
there are several rural white baptist/methodist churches out Safford/Marion Junction way that would be interested in your idea and probably help raise money for it. Several big landowning families still out there that would probably help too. You would be surprised at the wealthy lawyers/doctors/business folk in Bham today, that come from west dallas county.
And, to my knowledge there isnt any gambling these days, least like it used to... that was a different world, that wind done gone.
good luck to you. keep us abreast of your progress. You might find some help on here too as you develop your school.
I cant think of any open school out that way since they miscegenated all the schools back in the 60s. Its a shame we dont have neighborhood schools or a decent God fearing rural county school system like it was when I came along.

How close is this place you folks are talking about to Uniontown?
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
