My family and I are moving to Orriville in two weeks and I was wondering if anyone on here lived in that area. I have a friend that lives there and he has some younger kids that my youngest can play with but my 10 year old is left out. Just trying to find him someone like minded that enjoys the outdoors and sports to hang out with. I know if may be a long shot but stranger things have happened. Thanks in advance.

Baitstop off of here lives there. If you don't know him already you need to look him up, he is a good fella. There are a couple more guys that live there or really close too I believe,

I'm not far from Orrville, AL and have a lot of kin folk in the area. My wife's family is all born and raised in the Five Points/ Mollette's Bend area. A lot of good folk in the area. Friends won't be a problem. I hope you plan on your kids going to private school. Public school is not an option in Orrville.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

check in to Morgan Academy in Selma, its about 12-15 mi from Orrville. Get to know the folks that used to live in the "big house"... they own most of the land down that way. you wont find better folks anywhere on God's earth than West/southwest Dallas county. Cut my teefs huntin and fishin in that neck of the woods back when 78s and 45s were popular.

Im a fire medic with Mobile and for the time I will commute. I intend to try to get on with a department up that way. My wife is a school teacher here in Baldwin County and the main reason for the move is that she is pairing with a couple of other teachers to start a christian school. This year my boys will be home schooled. God willing the school will be up and running next year. We have made a lot of progress but it is still a bit out. Im glad to hear about the potential for my oldest. We are going to be just south of Five Points in River Oaks.

central ala,
Seems like I remember he fell and faked his death only to come home years later. My memory ain't what it use to be though.

Jimbo was one of my best friends in high school. As far as his dad Jim his uncle Sutt and John if there was anything those 3 had a problem with they dealt with it in a bad way! Yes John faked his death in the swamp in Louisiana to show back up years later. Then the rig took his life. His son Dresh was a spitting image of him.

yeah, same here. I recall he died from the fall. late 60s/early 70s? That Bucky Covington song "different world" comes to mine when I reminisce about those days and big john... its a shame it aint like that any more.

I'm assuming your calling Jim Mollette Jimbo? His son is 34 yrs old is who I'm referring to as Jimbo but last I saw Big Jim he was on a walker from his multi accidents. The wreck on the bridge and the self gunshot wound to the legs.

yes that is right.. I met him many years ago as Jimbo back when John was alive. I dont know his son. I was down there hunting a while back and didnt recognize him on the walker. But I also didnt know the details. I was hunting on the some of the Hamlett land and he came down to the little house to visit.

Holt Hamlett sure did have a nice place back in the day. Hans Poulsen used to have a good dove shoot down there every year when the browntop got combined for seed. Those were some good ole days. Old gentlemen hunts on a pretty we'll maintained farm.
