I see the prices people pay for homes. Those notes last 30 years and buying a house at the high end of your budget is a very bad idea. Imho. X2...i would not buy a house that cost more than double my income.....actually prefer less as long as you can find a place you feel safe and don't have neighbors with pitbulls or teenagers with loud stereos. And I would NEVER move out of my house until the house was closed on. I know two people that bought houses and moved out with the expectations of a closing on their previous home only to have it fall apart. Both people still have 2 houses and can't get either one sold without taking a big hit.
