Nice. Put up some details when you get time. I always get some new ones in October for the kids birthdays. Looking to go with as much jawspread as legal here.

BS I'm working nights and haven't had time to do anything with them. I'm going to start prepping them Tuesday when I work off and I'll be giving product detail and reviews for each trap.

MB 650 cast, MB 650 IL, MB 550, KB 5.5, Bridger #2 and Montgomery #3. Sleepy Creek #4.5 and #3 double long springs.

Trying dogless designs and paws-I-trip on the 550! I also ordered a dozen paws-I-trip pans for my victors.

I have caught hundreds of coyote with the MB 550s, you WILL like them! I have never tried the dogless. The dogs on the MB-550 are like 99 ct a piece. I have only had 1 trap in 6 dz ever get bent up so bad I couldnt use them. MB 550s are a really good out of the box trap that need little adjustment to work well. I just degreese them and Formula 1 them!

I am leaning toward the 550 myself. The 450s I have now have never let anything that stepped on the pan out except for one coyote that left two toes and a possum that left a leg after some coyotes got to him before I did.

My only problem with the 550 is 4 3/4" inside jaw spread. Alabama law says 6" max and I want every extra inch I can get.

The KB compound 5.5 comes 4 coiled with offset jaws and laminations. It's dogless with adjustable pan tension that will go down to 2.5 lbs. It comes base plated and center swiveled. Jaw spread is 5 1/2". The jaws are riveted at the base instead of being turned up. This trap is $29 from F&T but is literally built like a tank.

The only negative I see in this trap is that the pan sits lower than the jaws. It's level and is crisp but when bedded it's going to be 1/4" lower than the jaws in the bed. I guess that's something I'll have to see about when it's actually in the ground.

Yes this is an expensive trap but I can also see it being a favorite on my line!

More to come tomorrow!

MB 650 IL and 650 cast are both very well made traps. The only problem I see with these traps is pan tension. The 4 coils are going to make this trap hard to get below 4 lbs making it too much trap for our grey fox.

In Minnesota traplines defence I had called and talked to them before I ordered these traps and the rep told me they weren't going to adjust down enough to be a versatile fox/coyote trap! I think they will catch and hold any coyote that steps on them and will be around for my grandsons to use also!

The MB 550 is a super nice trap. No need for modifications because it has it all already. 2 coiled this little trap is going to be an awesome all around trap for fox, bobcat, coyote and coon I believe. And if you're only targeting coyotes it can be four coiled to eliminate non target catches.

My only set back with it is only 4 3/4" jawspread. We are allowed up to 6" in Alabama and that extra 1 1/4"s does make a difference to me.

The Bridger #2 dogless also comes with all the mods you can pack into a trap and should hold up well! The springs aren't as strong as the other traps listed but 4 coiled it should hold whatever steps on it. It also has adjustable pan tension and the dogless design is super nice with a large pan.

The only problems I see with this trap is the jaws don't have much turn in them where they connect to the frame and the springs seem a little weak compared to the others.

The Montgomery #3 dogless trap was a total let down to me. The pan had an unreal amount of wobble in it and the trap wasn't built up nearly as well as others in the same price range! That's just me and my .02 worth!
