So who is planning a trip to Florida next spring? Whether it be putting in for the quota/draw or using an outfitter?

I had a trip lined up with a friend of a friend, but it looks to be falling through. So im in the process of piecing something else together now.

Turkeys be damned.

For those of you applying for the special ops hunts, just wanted to warn you that they recently changed the rules where only 10% of the draw goes to non-residents, so if they only except 10 hunters, there is zero chance your buddy is getting drawn with you. Had a buddy spend $200 last year and not get drawn. In other words, you will be hunting and traveling by yourself unless you have a nutty friend.

I doubt I go back to Florida anytime soon unless I get in on some private land for next to nothing. There is a lot of bang for your buck out west and hard to turn down.

I have been thinking a lot about starting to plan for a goulds and oscellated trip in the future. I figure I need to start another account up and start putting some money in it to do it though.

I agree about out west. But I need an Osceola or two. Then I may never go back. smile
I figure I may as well do it before prices go up even more. If you shop around you can still go for a somewhat reasonable price.

Some of the best hunting in the state right there around Orlando...Disney..Epcot center. Great improved pastures groves and cypress heads that Osceolas love!

I have a friend that owns an orange grove and is president of an NWTF chapter down there. They auction off a couple of turkey hunts and I won one that includes meals, lodging and got it for $600. Going this spring cant wait

If everything works out I'll be going on a buddies place this coming spring to get my 2nd Osceola, I definitely need to go out west. I just found out a friend of mine has land in New Mexico and Texas that no one goes on except for an oil company. next step there is to make a trip happen
