His body language said a lot on the sidelines. Helmet resting on the top of his head and arms folded. Didn't seem to be to engaged in the action on the field or what was going on offensively. Maybe the QB question for the season has been and is Sims to lose. With what I saw today I was very pleased with his performance and I know it's way early and that can change with the opponents only getting tougher once we get into league play. What do y'all think?

I think Sims did a good job and will only get better and better. I wouldn't read too much into Cokers body language. He'll be the starter next year. I do like the fact that it seems Saban didn't go to the kid and tell him the job was his. He had to earn it. Greise said that Coker looks good in 7 on 7's but has to think too much when going live with all 22.

Sims didn't do anything to lose his status as starting QB. 24/33 for 250 ain't bad. The 60yd jones drop in the 4th qtr was perfect. Two 100+yd rushers to complement.
On the other hand, the def looked suspect. Thompson HS has a couple receivers that could burn Sylve.

Sims def earned the job. This team has a long way to go. If they played Auburn today, they'd lose by 21.

Something that was missing last season.

Simms did a good job? Really? It was a wonder that he wasn't intercepted more, he telegraphs his throws, most of the time he took the snap and threw the ball even though the receiver was not only covered; but double coverage. He can not throw the deep ball, even the wide open drop by Jones was under thrown.
If Simms remains the QB there will be several losses this year since the Defense is lacking.

Sims didn't play great, but in comparison to his play in the spring game, he might be the next Joe Montana.
I said Joe Montegna.

he telegraphs his throws, most of the time he took the snap and threw the ball even though the receiver was not only covered; but double coverage. I noticed this as well..... When he dropped back..... His head never left the receiver he was throwing to..... Good defenses are gonna pick up on that...especially when it's pointed out in the film room....

Also somebody on the Defense is gonna have to step up and be a leader and take control. That's a fact. Even though Sims wasn't that great, the defense was more of a concern than the offense. The secondary looks awfully weak again
