Yea had a pack of em chase me my brother and dad to our house door one, the next and last time they didn't get away. They caught one of our goats that was pregnant and ate her alive and the babies out of her. I was older when this happened, put some slugs in the shotgun and snuck up on them....I enjoyed putting slugs in those damn things.

Broad daylight, late Dec/early Jan, unseasonably warm afternoon in Perry County, climbed an 18 foot ladder on an elevated blind, and just as my head got to the top of the ladder I see this: Almost did a full gainer off that ladder, lucky I didn't break my neck. Rat snake. Well just rock me to sleep why don't you. Crap! That ain't funny I would hurt myself tryi g to get away I think

The most scared I've ever been in the woods....2 seasons ago, walking into my stand before sunrise. no moon, so it was nearly "can't see your hand in front of your face" dark. walking a trail with shoulder high grass on one side and woods on the other.
out of nowhere, all hell breaks loose about 5ft away from me in the tall grass and nearly had a heart attack. after a few seconds I barely am able to make out a white tail running away, jumping through the grass.
I'd jumped a friggin' deer bedded down right next to my trail. I'm not sure who was more scared, me or the deer.

Got up to draw on a slick and the dang thing came out a hole and looked at me...6" from my hip. Couldn't jump, watched him crawl down bu my feet and starting down the tree. Head was below the stand and his tail was still comming out of the seat....

In Alaska, I had a couple run ins with bears. A sow protecting her cub is no joke. Worst one was a big brownie that kept coming towards us. Finally after raising enogh hell, she left.
While hunting once alone in Marengo county, I had a pack of yotes come around the tree as I was climbing down. The closer I got to the ground, the more they growled. I turned my flashlight on to scare them and the batteries lasted about 2 seconds and it was dead. I took another bite down and they growled even more. I finally fired the 7mag, jumped and hauled ass up the hill toward the truck. Found out later a buddy had gutted a deer about 50yds away a couple days earlier.
When I was about 10, we were dog hunting the river and my dad left me on the river bank where we had let some dogs off. He left in the boat to go after some other dogs. As it started getting dark, I realize I have no light source. After it got pitch black out I kept hearing something making a lot of noise in the brush and then a seriously loud scream. It raised the hair on my body and I thought I was gonna die, lol. It made the sound a few more times and I started yelling for the dogs hoping to scare it off. Later that night at the camp I heard the same noise and the guys explained what cats sound like. Pretty sure it was a black panther.

Personally I can't say I have ever been Scared. But a few of my hunters were. One got lost in big swamp. It was 5 hours after dark I found him. He ran up to me saying he was going to kiss me I told him if he did I would leave his arse there the whole night. He got out of his stand and got turned around.
Thats just one of the stories. Its amazing how easy a grown man can get scared with a guide driving him in. I have had them hand me $100 bills to make sure I was coming back to get them.

I had a buddy one time that had me and him both running for our lives one morning in the dark.... He tore out a couple times and passed me on logging road.. What do you do when the guy behind you runs past you in the woods, in the dark and says, "RUN"???.. You run with him.. We finally stopped and I ask, what in the hell is going on??.. He says, something was chasing me.. We start walking again and he blows by me again, of course I tear out with him again... We finally stop and he says, it was right behind me then... So I dig out my light and scan the woods... Nothing, and the woods are dead silent.. I tell him to walk on and I'll stay behind you with my light and watch... We start walking and he says, there it is, do you hear it?.. And I do hear it... So I pinpoint the sound... Turns out we/he was running from his pull up rope on his climber that was dragging bout 5 foot behind him. He looked at it and said "OH".... I laughed about it all morning!.. I still give him hell about that... He don't think it's really that funny...
Luck is when opportunity meets preparation...

I was ~14-15 hunting in a Swamp west coast of central Florida. My dad was putting in bid sewer pipes and cutting ditches to drain an area. I was sitting on a ~3-4ft high concrete manhole opening, at a "T" intersection. The side of the roads were grown up over head high. It was getting towards dust. I look down the road and see a leg ~75yrs away. No idea how I knew it was a leg, but I knew. I got my 35 cal 336 Marlin ready. If it was a buck it was dead. Then it took a step out, I could see half of it. There were no antlers, but it was a strange looking deer. I was a little confused. It took a couple of more steps and had a very long tail. I didn't move a muscle. I was so damn scared I didn't know what to do. I was happy that it just walked across the road. I gave it a couple of mins, and I went to my dad. I walked, looked, walked, looked, holy crap was I nervous. I was sitting right here: Map

I had something run me out of my stand one evening while bow hunting in Perry county. Octoberdreaming was close by and heard it too. Lots of limbs breaking and deep growling! The swamp that Troy talks about is about 300 yards away.
