Thanks Hal

How your new loads do? You pleased.

Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

Hal what powders do you use for your TSS loads? I am trying to make sure I can get some powder before I buy the amount of shot a buddy and I are discussing. We are gonna load 20ga.#9 and 12ga#8.

Lil Gun works for 12 and 20.

296 and H110 work for 20.

Steel works for 12.

I'm also working on new loads in both gauges that will take another relatively easy to get powder. Hope to have that done soon.

Hal,

I bought an old school bottomland 1187 12ga 3" that I'm thinking about doing TSS with. What would you recommend for the best range and tightest pattern?

IC .665 typically gets real tight and pretty even. I believe Gold Hunter has some patterns with that setup over on GN.

But something like .690 in Carlson's will typically give you ~70 yds and lots of wiggle room up close.

I should've stated that I have zero knowledge of loading TSS. Looking to start, though.

Theres nothing to it if you can follow directions. Plus alot of us on here to help you. If thats what you want to do.

Order shot, get recipe. Follow instructions.

How much is it shipped buying online? I may be willing to part with a few pounds for same price.

Why not just use a different load? They are harder to find than lil gun.

The load that uses Steel has easy to get components and powder. It does really good out of my citori. In fact good enough I didnt even waste my time to try the one with the federal hulls. I save them for my HW loads.

For non-Federal hull options, I've also got 2 oz 3" 12 ga load data using Steel/Cheddite/TPS, Steel/Cheddite/CSD, LilGun/Fiocchi/CSD and LilGun/Cheddite/TPS; and 2-3/4" 2 oz using LilGun/Fiocchi/CSD.

Let me know if you need any of these.

I'm also working on a couple totally different, relatively easy to find powder options, and hope it turns out.

They've got good pricing too. That's $7.00 cheaper than BPI

Yeah I was hoping feds would be aval. again this summer maybe get everything together in advance. Thats the only load data I got from Hal when I got the shot from him and it worked well. But it looks as if I'll have to change.
