How about the two of y'all putting some $ where those alligator mouths of y'all's are?

I haven't fished tournaments in a couple of years; but the two of you have just about convinced me that it might be a good idea again.

While I know it is going to be hard to get everyone's schedule lined up, how about we have a little tournament? No partners. No BS. Each individual's best 5. Have an independent party ride along with each of us.

And nobody's home lake. We pick an independent lake. Close to nobody's home lake. Let everyone pre-fish on Sat, tournament on Sunday.


Anyone else's thoughts on this matter on rules, entry fee, tournament name, etc. are welcome.

No, I'm not doing any stupid tackle limiting stuff (but I could almost be talked into you bringing a flipping stick me bringing a spinning rod....I like my odds, honestly).

My whole point when I started posting things was to state how you could use different tackle for different conditions. That was before you showed your true colors.

You can send me a pm on where you live if you don't want to put it on here. I think Ben lives around Bessemer Hoover area. I'm in the Tuscaloosa area and fish most of the warrior river chain. But I don't get on the tombigbee much I've spent a lot of time on most of the Tennessee river lakes grew up in prattville fished all of the coosa and alabama in that area. I can tell you one lake that's fairly close that I hate to fish and very rarely go to is lake tuscaloosa. There's a lot of tournaments up there and it's probably the toughest lake in the state

Guys I have not fished a tournament since 2010. I plan to fish some aba couples trails with my wife this year if at all possible. I just don't have time to fish anything right now. I bought a boat in june and have not gone fishing by myself to date the longest I have been on the water is 4 hours. I work 6 days a week and have and have 3 yr old twins to keep up with.

Give me a year or so and I will be in, but just don't have time right now. I live in pelham so anywhere within 2 hours is doable for me.

I fish mainly Coosa and Warrior, I hate the tn river but will go with a fighters chance where ever yall decide. Day or night whatever. As for the money what ever is fine by me.

As for the ass hat comment I was not trying to be an ass at any time. However I was poking at you due to the fact that you have fought me on several comments I have made and I felt like you were saying your way was the only way.

I have beat some of the best fishermen in the state and have lost to some of the worst so I will take my chances against anyone. Sorry to be a downer but keep me in mind and I am all for making it happen at some time in the future.

I'd suggest Smith but with a spinning rod and shakey head, a man could do some damage there with those. Even with a flippin' stick and light jig.

I grew up on swift creek. I'd mop the floor with your ass and then put a pop knot on your head big enough for a calf to suck on for leaving a yellow waxy build up.

Me either really I've been able to flip up 5-10 every trip and it's a crap shoot on the size. The early top water bite has been almost non existent for me

I will accept that as a tournament location and with those rules.

My depth finder seems to do no good at smith anyway. It has always been a keep the trolling motor on high and cover water over there for me. At least.

MY BUDDY AND I HAD A LIL FUN AT LAY ONE YEAR WITH TWO DUDES IN A BRAND NEW 2012 RANGER 20 FOOTER, THE WERE ALL OVER US TELLING US WE NEED TO GET HIS 14 FOOT JOHN BOAT OUT OF THE WAY SO THEY CAN FISH WHERE WE WERE...TOLD THEM WE WERE CAT FISHING AND NOT MOVING, THEY SAID THEY WOULD CATCH MORE FISH CAUSE THEY HAD THE BEST GEAR, WELL THEY CAUGHT 4 CATS TOTALING 20 SOME ODD POUNDS, ME AND OL' BUDDY HAD 7 FISH TOTALING ROUGHLY 110 POUNDS, THEY USED THE SPONGE BAITS AS THAT IS WHAT THEY WANTED TO USE, SAID IT WAS THE BEST STUFF ON THE MARKET, WE USED GOOD OL' SKIP JACK

Im all about having an aldeer tournament, as long is i dont have to go too far. I know there had been threads on here in the past. I would like to suggest making a new thread subject. Im down for anywhere on alabama above millers ferry to coosa or coosa lay Mitchell or jordan. I would even go as far as holt or oliver on the warrior.

What about Logan Martin or Neely Henry around March or April? Those would be centrally located for a lot of folks on here.

What I am working on, official or not, would likely be on logan martin.

Logan is too far north, never fished it either. Make it below logan martin dam on lay. I havent fished it but twice but its closer and has better fish.

You have definitely never fished logan. It is one of the easiest lakes to fish. You can catch them any way you like.

Y'all can have this thing at my place on Lay. Right below the 280 bridge. I may or may not fish it but would be interested in seeing who can actually fish and who's just talk. We could make it even more challenging and set a 15 mile area on the upriver side of 280 bridge to be the boundary. Can't fish anything down river of the bridge. There's not many that fish that area, myself included.
