The way I see it, and not trying to be an ass, is if you don't like the forum then don't visit. Turn the avatars off if you don't want it see them. If you think the content in the forum is inappropriate for your child, then do not let them visit the site. It's most likely you can tell if a thread is gonna go south, don't open the thread. If you can't tell from the title of the thread, then close it at the first sign of a bad turn.
There are thousands of other websites you can visit. The choice is yours and yours only.

I don't mind Brent's or 3toe's avatars, but Rebelman's has GOT TO GO! Agreed!

I can understand not wanting your kids to see some stuff and I respect that.........what I don't understand is people who think it's someone else's job to "shield" their kids from certain content. Instead of telling other people what they should/should not post, how about monitoring what your child is looking at online and limiting that content accordingly?
And it's not just this site, that happens on pretty much every message board regarding pretty much every topic.
The same folks asking others to, in effect, control what content their kids are exposed to would be furious if someone tried to tell them how to raise their kids....I don't want my kids seeing certain things until they're an appropriate age, but I take it upon myself to filter and limit such content accordingly.

Ghost ribbit, I respect your request. It took guts. When the bible says "don't let there be a hint of immorality among you", we(ME) sometimes forget to use God's word as the measuring stick. I know there are varying beliefs on this site, however, I can appreciate the OP's request. I know not everyone carries the same religious views, but I think if everyone would ask themselves one question before posting then fewer questionable things would be posted. The question is: Would I want my 8 year old reading and looking at this site as much as I do? Would u let ur 8yearold watch revenge of the nerds BOOGER? ![](http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-laughing014.gif)

Would I want my 8 year old reading and looking at this site as much as I do? If within your Christian beliefs it's not good enough for your 8-year old, then is it really good enough for you? Are there two standards? Should you (or others) be here if you don't think it's good enough for him to be here?

the rules of this forum clearly state that sexually oriented stuff is not allowed to be posted. I would like to see the moderators enforce these rules or change them. I hate to sound dumb but I've been here longer than almost all of y'all and have been a Moderator for years but where are these rules? I seriously haven't seen them. Brent, I'm with you. Been here a long time too and I have never read those rules until just now when Swampy mentioned where they were. There is a lot of stuff mentioned in the rules posted below that many members have at one time or the other been in violation of. Copy & paste below for those who are like us & don't know about them or where to find them. Ghost rabbit, I admire the courage it took for you to speak out your personal convictions on this subject. This may not well with everyone but I am very tired of seeing the filth in the avatar pics that are being posted by a handful. I understand that not everyone is a Christain and may or may not have the view of these pictures being wrong and filth but many do. Its ridiculous to not be able to look at deer pictures or discuss hunting without being subject to seeing this garbage. Not to mention if my kids happen to be on here with me. This is a hunting forum if you want to see and look at the filth there are plenty of places for that. I don't see any need in it being here. That being said regardless of your view on these pics the rules of this forum clearly state that sexually oriented stuff is not allowed to be posted. I would like to see the moderators enforce these rules or change them. I've seen some pretty sights, but damned if I could refer to them as 'filth'. I think this is an overreaction, just a tad, lol.

The thing that gets me is the people that are big church goers IE Bible thumpers are always first to judge and point fingers. When in the end All sins would be forgiven if you have accepted the good lord. I am a christen I have sinned and I have asked for forgiveness. But I am not going to judge another person on there faults.
There is still a act that is in law don't know how long it will be there when every one gets offended by every other thing. Its called Freedom of Speech. I have no problem with your view at all but in return you should not have any problem with any other persons view either. That is one of the reasons the Pledge of allegiance, the Bible, A cross in a mans yard, Flag being flown are being taken away.
So I guess what I am saying if you don't like it don't read it or look at it and teach your kids the way you want.

Let me shed some light....As long as their are grown men assembling on this forum, that have different beliefs, there will always be posts that are inappropriate for kids. It might be words, topics, pictures, or whatever
If everybody believed the same thing to the same degree, then all posts would be acceptable to everyone, though this place would get real boring.
When aldeer turns into a forum that polices every post to ensure that everyones guidelines are met, there probably won't be much of a forum.

Didn't know about the a avatars setting either. I have turned them off now as well. As much as I hear on this site about getting kids involved with hunting and it is a good thing. I believe it is a good thing to have a site for a young person to read about hunting without the garbage that sometimes shows up. I agree that most of it can sometimes be seen in public but that doesn't mean it's a good thing.

Heck I grew up at the hunting club watching the old men play cards drink cuss and tell dirty jokes and I grew up fairly decent. When I was 8-10 we would go to my cousins club and me and his son would look at playboys in the trailer while our dad's weren't paying attention.

I had to turn all the avatars off myself. I like to jank and cut up as much as anyone else but there's just certain things I don't care to have thrown in my face. Especially because it has caused problems in my relationship when she see's it on here.

I guess I'm just old school. I don't care what my wife looks at as long as she is faithful to me.
I've exposed my kids (or allowed them to be exposed) to all sorts of stuff on purpose, and talked to them about it all as they saw it. I preferred guidance over sheltering them
My wife told me she didn't care where I got my appetite just as long as I came home for supper.
This works well for us ... Wife and I are into each other big time and the kids are about as good of kids as I could ask for

So I guess my Avatar is offensive too. It's either is making fun of people that believe they exist or it's does it confirm that the DO exist?
