The way I was raised.You didn't mention boobies or anything like wanting to kiss a girl.You didn't dare mention beer.It was the debils vomit.You didn't listen to anything but church music.We werent allowed to mix swim.All that kind of stuff.Too much to list but yall get the jist.When I turned 18 I moved out and went batchit crazy for about 2 years.It's a wonder I didn't really get in some serious crap.What I am trying to say I guess is that you can carry anything too far to the right OR the left.

Clem, sorry for the delay. I must explain my avatar. I didn't put the pic there. I haven't watched revenge of the nerds since the 80's. The answer would have to be no. I did not let my 8 year olds watch movies or view material that was intended for adults. I don't feel like I'm better than others. I just have a strong conviction about my relationship with our Savior. I hope I don't come across ever as a holier than thou Bible thumper. I don't thump my Bible, I read it and try to live it out in my life. I try to be a servant to others. I was just showing appreciation for the OP's boldness.

I went back and read all of this.I have got to say it's amazing but not surprising.I raised both of my kids just like rocket 62 described raising his.I have never sheltered them or lied to them about anything only guided them and educated them.They are both good Christian children with all of the wants and desires of a normal teenager.The difference is is that they KNOW how to control themselves.I respect all of the views represented on here but believe that the governing of this site should be left to the mods and if I don't like something I have the right not to read it.
