Very very nice. Strang they werent doing anything to be arrested for at that time. i could have asked the deputy to go ahead with trespassing charges when he called; but when i asked about the "situation", i felt the folks who were caught "with their pants down", so to speak , wouldn't return to this particular spot. the deputy pointed out that they were surrounded by 5 "no trespassing" signs and that i was giving them a one time only break. if i had said to charge them with trespassing, it wouldn't have bothered me a bit to fill out a little paper work at the satellite courthouse.

I wonder if putting a chain accros that road with a sign stating they are on surveillance would help most people think twice about backing in there. probably would but i shouldn't have to do that. there is a posted sign at the very opening of the entrance and then there are 4 more as you make your way to the gate. probably all within 60 feet. besides, i could see me putting up a chain and having a child on a dirt bike hit it and getting seriously hurt. they don't read them (or they read them and just fail to obey) now so i wouldn't expect any difference with the chain with sign. i do appreciate the suggestion though.

On Coverts website, it says the Black Ops 60 can send pics to a Verizon phone if the cam is set up with a GSM sim card, which is usually supported by AT&T and T mobile. Not sure how it would work, but according to their website, it's possible. What you done said, I ain't got a clue? What I saw on Covert's site was a 3G code black didn't see anything about a black ops. I'll call Covert in a day or two and get the scoop. guys, it's easy peasy. just do like i did. my phone is verizon network. i went to at&t because it is closest to house than t-mobile. buy a sim card for the camera. it's itty bitty and goes in the side of the camera. buy an sd card for the bottom of the camera. the sd card will hold all the photos the camera takes. when the camera is triggered, it sends the first picture from the set it takes. i have ours programmed to take 3 pictures. all 3 are stored on the sd card and the first one is sent to your phone to alert you. it doesn't matter who your phone carrier is, just matters that you can receive a picture. buy the $100 per year text message plan for the sim card. don't buy the $25 per month plan. no brainer there. the sim card gives your covert 3g camera it's own "cell number". (just think of the covert 3g becoming an automatic cell phone/camera that takes a picture and then sends it to your phone via text message.) buy some good batteries or get a rechargeable 6 volt battery. follow the directions very carefully to set up the camera. i used the computer and it was easy. read the instructions once over and take your time. find a tree, strap on the camera and break off some scrub oak or what-have-ya bushes or small twigs/limbs and camo that strap in. when those little leaves die, it's perfectly blended in. then kick back and enjoy life and wait on that first text. i put the sim card phone number into my contacts list as "trespassers" and set my alert for that particular number to "dog bark". when that dog barks on my iphone, i know i gots me something good.

My dad has four on our land for security, he has me added on the line.
We both have verizon. I ordered four for $280 each.
Worth every cent. if those are the 3g then you got a heck of a deal. can you tell us where those were ordered?

2dogs and everyone else interested in text trail camera that will work in Verizon service areas and cell towers is a Reconyx. Trust me on this as I have done my research. The coverts are a AT&T or Tmobile camera. This means it works off AT&T or Tmobile cell towers. If AT&T or Tmobile service sucks like it does on every property I hunt the camera will not have service to text pics. You need at least 3 bars of service for camera to text.
Now if you have good AT&T or Tmobile service on your property you can do as Velvet Tines out lines above. Once your camera is set up with AT&T or Tmobile service it will text pics to aVerizon phone. These cameras will not work off Verizon cell towers.

Just went back and looked I actually caught three of the Covert special ops, code black on a sale last year for $285 an the other I bought for $280 in the box new from a guy off TNDEER. I spent a lot of time looking for sales though, I actually found the deals on a waterfowl hunting website.
And everything velvet tines said is exactly what my Dad did, I am 29 but when my phone goes off I get pretty exited. We have great pics of trespassers also and deer, dogs, foxes, squirrels you get the point!

Good point about a kid hitting the chain. I'm obviously not familiar with your setup but if you feel that's a risk, then I wouldn't do that either. Hopefuly after a couple of these instances, the word will make its way around the county.

These cameras will not work off Verizon cell towers. AT&T's service is pretty much non existent from Greenville to mine and your places in DC, thats why I switched to Verizon. If you have to depend on AT&T service anywhere besides in town, then you're SOL. Funny thing is they'll tell you that they're putting up towers all the time but its been that way for at least 10-12 years and hasn't gotten any better. They are VAST areas of land in that county that AT&T won't even begin to get a signal, which makes all this completely useless to us.
So weird.
