Alright guys, Namely the ones that travel and hunt. I have been going to land between the lakes in Kentucky for the past 3 years with success. My wife and 2 year old little girl likes to go with me so we can get a break from everyday life. We always plan our trip the 1st week of November for the rut. Or course my wife doesn't hunt she just likes to go for the trip. We usually stay at a state park so it gives her something to do during the day while I'm on stand. What other areas have you guys hunted, that's within 8 hrs of North Alabama that offers good hunting at a reasonable out of state license price, that also affords good accommodations so my wife can enjoy the trip as well. I've hunted the Golden triangle in Illinois and also north east Missouri. Any suggestions from you folks that hunt maybe Indiana, Tennessee, Ohio? Just looking for somewhere new to hunt. Let's here some suggestions? Thanks

Their are some good deer in tn. Some really wild thick untouched areas, my only experience is southern middle tn. Idk if you'll see as many monsters like you would in Illinois but TN has some beautiful areas to camp for your wife and child.

Many a deer have been taken of Yanahali in Maury County. I don't care what the stats say, people have good luck there.

There are several state parks that allow hunting in southern Illinois. Most have nice camp grounds.

I hunt southern Ohio and stay at a horseman's camp. License is $164 for license, buck tag and doe tag. If your wife and girl like horse riding they would enjoy this area.

I've hunted around Nashville Indiana several times. Lots of public land and some nice deer. Wife would love the town of Nashville. Has tons of shops/boutiques

I hunt about hour north west of Nashville Indiana and ever year we have to go down there for the wife to shop. It's a good place. Good hunting the first of November too.

It's not how many days you hunt, it's how you hunt each day, that determines the success.
