Well, we got thumped. 12lbs 3 oz won the thing and we finished 9th. caught 2 in Short Creek on a black/red glitter zoom lizard and 1 on a merthiolate (sp) trick work. Caught another in Hurricane creek right at the mouth on merthiolate and another right back at Howtons before we weighed in on a tomato lizard. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd all had a 7 fish limit and were all 12 lbs some odd ozs. 1st and 2nd caught theirs swimming jigs in the lillies and 3rd caught all of his in the little river on a red shad Berkley worm.

Got a nice tool bag and a new multimmeter for a door prize, and a bad day fishin is better than the best day I ever had workin. laugh

Yall all suck as Warrior River guides BTW laugh

Well you can lead a horse to water, but you can make him do a back flip.....

12 lbs with a 7 fish limit is not a lot of weight. Sounds like the fish really did not want to participate in this tournament.

What was the big fish of the tournament?

Glad to hear that you had a good time on the water. I think I speak collectively for all of the guides here when I say that the quality of guide service provided is not any better than the services provided elsewhere. Unless you have money...heh..heh...heh.

You should have trolled the main channel. What ever happened to plain ole blue or black worms? When I cant spell the color of my worm, I'll quit fishing.

There is no trolling in most tournaments. You have got to catch them honest.

Mark, big fish was 4 1/2 lbs and the guy that caught it had a 7 fish limit and came in 3rd. It was pretty weak over all. Last saturday night when we did a little pre-fishing 11 lbs won the tournament that was going on.

Oh well, enough of the Warrior. Back to familiar territory Friday night. Logan Martin here we come. laugh

Where you going on Logan Martin?

You can always swing by my dad's place. He loves it when people pitch jigs into the side of his aluminum hulled house boat while he's asleep wink

I did just recently sink (3) Xmas trees and a couple of pallets up there around the dock. Been catching a lot of crappie. Recently started catch some spotted bass on jigs. I need to learn how to fish that lake......

PS: Memorial Day Weekend I saw a lady fishing shiners around Camp Cosby. She was in the process of landing one that was right around 5lbs when we came by.

William, We haven't decided where we will put in yet. I take it your dad's crib is at Pier 59. My paw-in-law used to keep his boat there. Boy we used to hammer some fish right around in there. He got rid of it a few years back when he got leukemia, so I haven't been back in that area a lot.

We will probably put in somewhere around Big Bull, but we have talked about going up to Choccolocco and expanding our horizons. I'll keep you posted later in the week.

treehanger,

Dad decided he didn't want to rent dock slips anymore so he built his own personal marina. laugh He is right across from Pier 59 on the other side of the road. You can't miss it. He's got (2) house boats there parked side by side.
