A guy here at work fishes there almost every week. He's been killing them on main lake points throwing top water in mornings and worms the rest of the day. The worm is a dark purple red color by Zoom. He's been catching 20-40 spots per trip.

I grew up fishing Lock 17. Great place to fish. You'd better watch out. The river is up and the water will be full of stuff.

if it's real muddy i'd throw a blade

otherwise a yellow trickworm

or work weed pockets, pitch a lizard, peg the weight, look for bite on the fall, hop it a time or two if no strike, pitch to another

i love Warrior, willy's right watch them lawgs

I'd head up to lost creek and fish the lilly pads. Go in first slough to right (fanny's branch) and fish pads in the backend. Theres a good creek channel coming through the pads. Try spinnerbait, jigs and super flukes.

**** I just gave a way my hawg catchin spot! laugh

If you are launching at Howton's it is hard to beat Prescott Creek just around the upper bend from Howton's. Weeds on left and right side of the creek.

Down river try Friley's or really any of the cuts on the right side that have good weed beds in them.

Chartruese with gold blades will do well. So will lizards and trick worms. If that fails, get out a flipping stick and start pitching jigs or tubes at boathouses and weed mats.

Lost Creek is a long run in the type of water you are going to be dealing with on the Warrior with all of this rain.

Hint: Go after largemouths, spots alone will not win a tournament on the Warrior. If the largeheads are not biting that well then hit the river points and rock walls for the spots.

ROLL TIDE !!!

If your touney allows trolling, troll the main channel with a fire tiger deep running crankbait. I got a friend that catches them all day long doing that. Problem is, most tourneys will not allow trolling. Or beer drinking unfortunately.

not sure what the best way to handle them is but they shouldnt be on tv and gettn married and raisin kids

Prescott if it is muddy in the river prescott will start to clear first.Go all the way up when you go around the bend go across the slough and work that weed bed. There is a spring that empties into the weed bed there. Then come back and work the bank with all the boat houses.People feed the fish and usually have some nice fish caught along the piers and boathouses.

Went to pre-fish yerterday afternoon, if we don't do any better next weekend I will have wasted $60 laugh

I have heard a lot of good things about Lost Creek but we didn't wanna run that far. Got a couple of bites in Prescott Creek and not a nibble in Friley's. There was some hunting club's tournament going on and traffic was heavy. We have located an decent spot downriver and I hooked a good one there. If he gets back on my line next weekend with a few buddys we will do pretty well.

I'll keep yall posted laugh

If I see the fella that fishes there all the time, I'll hit him up for some hot spots. He usually only catches spots in the 2-4lb range.

Just got the low-down on Lock 17. Fish Camp Creek in the AM. Way back in the back with top water. By about 9:AM or so, move out to main lake points at the mouth of creeks (Camp Creek, Yellow Creek, Frilley's Creek, etc). You'll catch the spots on either a carolina or texas rigged worm. Zoom 6" in a reddish color are doing good.

Yall better stay out of Camp Creek. There is a mean ol' cuss that hangs out in the back of that creek. Some people say he is plum crazy.

But I ain't. I mean he's not.

Camp is a 25-30 minute run from Howton's down river.

With a weak front moving thru and overcast conditions I may be down there myself.

Knock em dead !!

I guess I better get my map out and see where Camp is. We are probably going to stick with our original game plan because of the weather. If it holds out we may run down there.

Mark, if you see 2 rednecks looking lost in a red Avalanche it will be us, please don't shoot. laugh
