After 3 days of no luck and nothing really to get excited about I took off yesterday and spent some time at home. I'm heading out again to this spot. I haven't seen anything there on cams for 3-4 weeks since the acorns started dropping. Hoping that the colder weather will cause a pattern change and I'll get a shot ... Vernal pool at a spot I've scouted all year I don't want to pass quietly into the night. I want to slide in sideways kickin and screamin Life really is awesome ... Soak it up while you can ...

Emmett is set up about 350 yards to my 4 o'clock position on the acorn flat across the creek. Just after it got light enough to see I had a big bodied deer slip by me at about 60 yards. Would have drilled in the boler room if she hadn't pulled her magic crap. Oh well, set up on a creek bottom this morning where I have several pictures of some decent bucks.
