Maybe at the edge of one of the gated gas pump trails with my back to a tree. Or on a powerline. I figure I will do this the first few hunts until I can find better spots. It's so thick in most places that I don't think I could kill one with a bow on the ground any other way.

Shoot naw, he's not kidding. You gotta do what ya gotta do on public land. I even take "fake" craps at certain places I don't want people to go. When people see a pile of toilet paper they get a little turned off on the area.

So for this youth gun hunt on the Cahaba coming up on Nov 15-16, can I still hunt with my bow or is the whole WMA completely shut down for hunting if you are not a youth?

Of course he is. When people see trucks parked at a gate they imagine that its there because someone had the good fortune of discovering deer sign there and that this would be a good place to hunt, usually they will park right behind the truck & roam around a bit to see where you are, just to be safe, you know?

The more trucks parked in an area indicates the amount of deer around, and so forth. Wear lots of orange.

I hate trying to hunt public land.

I drop off all my buddies off at spots without gates and then we park our trucks at gates so we will have a place to hunt if the morning spots don't work out. We laugh every time someone walks in on us. Never let you see us drag all those deer out though.

I would rather have my truck parked in front of the gate I am hunting to at least warn someone the spot is already being hunted. Why would you laugh at the guy who walks in on you? The joke is on you because it is your hunting that got ruined.
