Anybody got a suggestion for sunglasses that are comparable to Costa as far as lens quality? I've got a pair of Costas now but am needing to send them back for the second time due to poor frame quality/materials, in my opinion. I take extremely good care of them but am tired of them not holding up very well. Looking to get something else. Please don't start with the "I wear tinted safety glasses from work", or "I buy the $5.00 brand and they are just as good". I use to be that guy too. The lens clarity and lack of eye fatigue experienced from Costas is awesome. Craftsmanship for the frames, not so much.

Sun Cloud - Lifetime warranty and every bit as good as Costas and only about $50

Maui Jim are suppose to be good. I wear Maui Jim's now after years of wearing Costa's. I don't know what mine are called but they are polarized and top of the line. If you were to buy them at a optical store they will costed you $300.00. You can get them at Costco for $180.00 These glasses have been offshore with me many of times the past two years and hold up great to the saltwater abuse they get. I highly recommend them.

What style frames are you having problems with? I'd have to look at them tomorrow. They are out in the truck tonight. The problem is the rubber pieces on the bridge and on the arms. They keep coming unglued/unattached.

Stay away from Oakley. Had a pair break and went to use the warranty on them only to get told that the warranty didn't cover it. The lifetime warranty paperwork didn't list it as a reason to void the warranty.

I am a costa guy also. I have had 3 pairs. The last pair were the newer fantails. They have been sent back twice due to the reason you stated. My brother has a set of Jose's, sent back twice for the same reason also. $275 per pair, you would think they would hold up. My first two pair gave me no problems at all. Smith makes good eyewear and I am partial to Native sunglasses also.

Check out the brand Kaenon. I have gotten 2 pairs through work and they are comforatable and great lenses. I have a brand new pair of Costas that sit in my truck now because they just aren't as comfortable. A 2nd vote for this. My Costas are now reserved for weed eating and tractor work since I got my Kaenons. The lenses are on par with Maui Jim (better than Costa), but they are half the weight of the Mauis.

I have a set of Maui Jim sports, that I really like. I had an issue with a pair of Costa's and they did a pitiful job of finding a remedy.
