March 1 Private Lake Noon Bass 2, 10-plus Strong south wind, warm temps Unsure, probably in 50s Texas-rigged tube, smoke-red flake Caught a small one on the tube, then went back to where the big one broke me off twice on 12-pound test. Upgraded to 20-pound test. Detecting bites was tough in the wind, but she tapped it and I stuck her. Between 9-10 pounds, beautiful fish. Released and she tail-splashed me good before swimming away.

4-29-04 Private Lake south of Montgomery 3-6 p.m. Largemouth 100 plus caught, from 1 to 5.5 pounds Overcast, thundershowers moving in Kitchen sink
-- Private and intensely managed lake ... teamed up with a friend and pitched tubes, freak baits, jerkbaits and topwaters ... just a good, fun day until I heard my rodtip buzzing as I was about to make a cast. Electricty and rods don't go together, so we shagged.

Cool and cloudy early, rained on/off till 2:00, clouds left and got hot. slight chop in water, not bad at all Strike King Spinnerbait White and Chartruse. white trick worm, white tiger rooster tail 1/18 oz

JULY 24 2004 Pea River 10am-4pm we caught 23 bass. the largest being a 5.9lb and another at 3.7lbs. Temp: Was dang near 100 Water temp I really aint sure. Bait: We used Culprit plastic worms. Colors were Black and we used Pumpkin seed with Chartruse tails. Comments: Me and my buddy had a blast on this float trip. We hadnt fished together in a while. We kept about 18 of the fish. It was very hot but I would do it again. I think the heat index was like 110. When we got to hot we just jumped off into the water to get cooled off. The float trip took about 6 hours to make. The river was lower in places than we expected but all in all it was a good day. I really enjoyed it.

3-19-05 Crow Creek/Tenn. River 10:00-2:30pm Bass 2 fish, 2 lbs Windy, Overcast stained Both fish caught on spinnerbait, fished some traps, jigs, plastics. Water temps were anywhere from 51-56. Fish where caught in about a foot of water. Looked like they had just came up to the shallows. Would have kept fishing that spot, but the whitecaps made it hard to. Hopefully can make it back tomorrow... Tater

Clem, nice to note that other people have had their rod tip start singing. Have been looked at very funny when telling other people about it. Also fished Lake Martin one morning when the line wouldn't fall to the water (updraft or something). Lure (topwater) wouldn't move until you made a bunch of cranks on the handle.

Lake Martin---Caught 10 or 12 Friday afternoon on top. Spit-n-Image and Roy Gene. Most were small and averaged about 3/4 lb. Sunday morning, son and I caught 24 on top. Lots were small, but had 8 nice spots. I was throwing the Roy Gene and my son (who caught 2/3 of the fish) was fishing the small Chug-Bug. Fish hit top up to 9:30 when we had to go in. Cloudy with breeze out of the South. Mostly fishing the Triple Branches area. Fish were real shallow early (2 feet or less) and moved to humps and end of points later. Saw lots of schoolies (mostly smaller fish.) Wish I was there today.
Matt Brock wears knock-off Crocs.
