Don't want no organs, coyotes, crows, armadillos, etc, haha. I just can't get past the texture of organs.

Deer heart is yummy!! it is muscle tissue just like the backstraps, hind quarters, etc with less fat and sinew!

You don't throw the turkey heart away to make giblet gravy, so why do you throw the deer heart away? Might even be great dice up into small pieces for chili!

We had some boys from the mountains of Tennessee come hunt with us and they ate everything. The carcas looked like a coyote had gotten it.
I do want to try a heart from the next one that I kill.

Tried some a couple of years ago, laid it open and trimmed as much of the sinew out as possible, marinated in Moores and grilled. As good as any back strap.

My mom would cut it thin and, along with the Liver, cook it like a beef stew in a Pressure cooker. She would also add some Bacon to give it some fat and flavor.
I can't stand Liver of any sorts but could eat Deer liver cooked this way.

Hunt'em hard when they are hard to hunt but never, ever hardly hunt!

Been saving and eating deer hearts since the late 80s. Trim the white membrane off. Batter an fry or sear it and then bake or Crock Pot it in cream of mushroom soup (along with deer liver trimmed real good if you saved it too) and it's fine eating.

Get the F out of the BATFE. The F is guaranteed by the US Constitution. Those other letters are not.

My boy scout leader used to take a deer heart on our survival campout when we were only allowed to carry 1 lb of meat. It was real good cooked over a fire.

Back when I was killing does right and left I would bring the deer hearts home and feed them to my neighbors two labs. They loved it. Then they got diabetes and could only eat baby carrots.

Love me some Chicken Livers and Deer Heart is pretty good.
