March 1
Private Lake
Noon
Bass
2, 10-plus
Strong south wind, warm temps
Unsure, probably in 50s
Texas-rigged tube, smoke-red flake
Caught a small one on the tube, then went back to where the big one broke me off twice on 12-pound test. Upgraded to 20-pound test. Detecting bites was tough in the wind, but she tapped it and I stuck her. Between 9-10 pounds, beautiful fish. Released and she tail-splashed me good before swimming away.

Smith Lake(Rock Creek)3/27/04
Caught 6 bass(4 in about 2hrs that morning, and 2 in about 30 minutes of fishing that evening)
Weight: 1 approx. 3 to 3.5#'s, the rest between 1-2#'s. Missed 4 or 5 more bites.
Caught 2 on a spinnerbait, and 4 on a lizard.
Water was pretty clear with partly cloudy conditions. Not very much wind at all. Seem to do better on a slow retrieve. Caught the biggest by throwing against a rock wall and letting it fall straight down, then twitching it a few times and letting it fall a little more.

bass
62 total, largest was just over 5 lb.
Sunny with light breeze
clear water
June bug red and blue plastic worms, white spinner baits.
Fish were hitting in the shallows near structure. Looks like they are a couple of weeks from hitting the beds here. Should just get better.
