Where all of y'all stay when you travel to hunt Choc?

I'm staying with family about 5 minutes south of the HWY 9 check station.. I'd be back for the holidays regardless of the gun hunts but it works out pretty nicely they planned the gun hunt on opening weekend.

I know of at least one campground (pine glenn),Im sure there are more.

I will be out there most of the day tomorrow. My dad has been the past 2 days and hasn't seen a deer.

I plan to be up there in the morning, but I've never hunted Zone A. I have a good mind to bow hunt Zone B... My only hunt up there so far this year was the youth hunt. Had one deer enter and exit the field before we had to time to react. Hope to see some kill pics from the weekend!

In a deep hardwood bottom on the heflin side of zone A . Checked the book on my way in several bucks have been taken this week. Gorgeous day to be in the woods good luck to everyone.

Are yall finding any fresh scrapes ?

I have very fresh scrapes in this bottom im hunting. Saw a coyote a few ago couldn't get a clear shot. Really didn't want to shoot with all this buck sign in here though.

Can you bow hunt the opposite side while a gun hunt is going on?

The way I understand it, yes... But if you bow hunt during a gun hunt you have to follow gun hunt rules (ie. orange, buck only days, etc.)

Hunted out there this afternoon. Bumped a doe going in around 1:30. The squirrels are in full rut!

Had 3 bucks running 2 different does around me for 2 hours this morning, I've seen bucks chasing from the same tree since last friday.

So what time are we meeting at the Wagon Wheel to go hunt this spot??
