I have a 50 acre spot leased that I have spent much time and money planting two plots on. There is a 15 acre parcel to the East that buts up to a road and a 20 acre parcel to the South. Both of these parcels are owned by the same person. The last three days a single guy has released dogs on somewhat of a drive without standers and are running the deer crazy. I really don't understand the point in it but its screwing up my chances. I am pretty aggravated between the money I spent planting and the shooting house I built. I grew up hunting with dogs but haven't done it in years but we would never do that on such a small parcel and especially without standers.
I am my brother's keeper.

How long have you had your property leased? Are they rabbit dogs or deer dogs?

My best rabbit place used to be less than 10 acres.

My best rabbit place used to be less than 10 acres. Not trying to sound "racist" here, But when I was a kid Dad used to hunt with some older black guys. And we would hunt a place OUT. I mean there wouldn't be a rabbit left! I bet we wouldn't cover 15 acres all day. They would holler at me and say "Boy! You going to fast, ain't no sense in walking past rabbits just to kill one!!"

I had a great uncle like that. Once I got this spot he was always wanting to go hunt and always wanted to hunt it. It was flat, easy walking, tons of rabbits, and close to home. I got to where I couldn't take him but a couple times a year to it because he would kill every rabbit on the place if you would let him. It was my go to place to run in the summer time too. I had a 1400 acre lease covered up in swamp rabbits and once a year he would go with me to hunt it. It was rough and he hated that place. I loved the dogs hitting a rabbit and going out of hearing distance chasing them swampers. First time they did it I would have swore it was a deer if I hadn't have saw the rabbit myself.

Your story is shared by thousands in this state who hunt in counties that gave not totally outlawed dog hunting deer. I have 200 acres in henry county but end up hunting 50 acres in houston county much more because dog hunting is illegal in houston.A "gang" of a dozen thugs dog hunt 1,000 acres every weekend, yet they own 35 acres. The worst part is when you call the GW or Sheriff, they say "dogs can't read property lines" I'm all for hunting liberties, but it does get old after a while.

You dont have many options TILL they cross the property line. When they cross on to YOUR land then shoot them! Just dont admit to shooting them, and make sure no one sees you shoot them. That way their is NOTHING they can legally do about it. This" dog cant read crap" has to work both ways. IF they dont see you kill the dogs = they cant prosacute you! He never said they crossed the property line.
