Never thought I'd be able to hunt or fish without smoking. I damn sure don't miss it. Same here. Thank god for Meth tho. I've been quit for 12 after a 28 year career of dipping and smoking. Don't miss it a bit but I can remember duck hunting, getting all set up and finding no Copenhagen ... You'd have thought I left my gun in the truck
I don't want to pass quietly into the night. I want to slide in sideways kickin and screamin Life really is awesome ... Soak it up while you can ...

I got in one morning last week and did the pocket pat to find out which of the 15 pockets I put my dip in, I was 0-15..... after a brief moment of panic and depression I decided to check the pockets of my pants under my bibbs. SCORE!!!! You would have thought I found 100$.
Give me bout 15 more minutes, I was dreamin about beavers.......... Si Robertson

I've been off the chaw for ten months. I don't think about it much anymore. It did sound tempting on my last hunt

I have been dipping for 12 years and while many might say I'm addicted I would disagree I sometimes go an entire day or 2 without a dip on accident. Plus I only get maybe 2 dips a day. Anyway I have started leaving my dip in the truck on purpose while hunting just so i don't have to carry a bottle to spit in, one less thing.

deerkiller14 would have went back home. He can't hunt without dip.

It's all in your mind. I'm quit for the second time. This time after my accident in July. It's habit. Break the habit and you'll break the craving too.
First time I quit if I ate a big meal or drank a few beers I wanted a dip, BADLY. I figured out though, if I waited JUST A FEW MINUTES, the craving went away. Fifteen minutes after the craving came on me it was like I never had thought of it.
IF your MIND is strong, you can do it. It's no different than not responding to some chick coming on to you because you don't want to cheat on your wife. IT'S A CHOICE. Make a choice to do it, and suffer the consequences (health, dental and overall as well as bad breath and general nastiness) or do what you KNOW is right. For yourself and others.
Think also about the example you're setting. I dipped for years and now my oldest son does and I'm embarrassed that I passed it on to him. My younger son watched me do it the first 8.5 years of his life but I am TRYING to do better. If I can do it, so can you. Good luck.
