I was once forced by a boss to pay $1,000.00 for my part of a lease. Hunted maybe three times and never saw a deer. However, I put the hurtin on him and made my money back three fold.

Not AL but in TN I know of a 1000ac lease that's been on 8 point or better + 15" wide or better for over 20 years and it's a lifetime $1 per year. An old man that just wants to be an old man owns it and some real good guys lease it. There have been MULTIPLE groups of high rollers try to take this land from the guys that have it and the old man remains true to his word.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

If I was looking for a club I would pay 5k-6k for a place where you could average 10-15 deer per sit and they averaged 2 bucks per per member per year that scored 135" or more.

I know of one guy who had a six figure buy in and the annual dues are 12K.

They kill giants. Full time staff. Meals if you want them, etc.

Lodge is nicer than most million dollar homes.

Still is small money compared to some duck property I know about. That's where the big dollars come out.

Between my club, private lease, and a trip to Texas, I am about $15,000.00 this year. I dont really have any other hobbies anymore except , hunting, fishing, shooting, riding ATVs and go to the lake. So i might as well spend my disposable income on what I want. Therefore, i spend most of it on hunting. I have friends that spend $20k-$50k every year on hunting and dknt think twice about it. I guess it is all perspective.

Hunting brings out the worst in people.

Yes it is all about disposable income. What is a lot to some is not a lot to others.

You could hunt hard for one year, and kill more good bama bucks than most people would in 10 years on a normal lease. I think we killed 5 between the two of us, all p&y bucks. That was only hunting the weekends. 2 retired members, killed around 10 a piece.

Come on, man.

This was not around the Brewton area was it? I ask because I was in a similar situation and I also made a hefty profit.

From reading this forum i feel really blessed. We have 2400 acres leased for round $3 a acre. Private landowner been friends with my ancestors for yrs. was only 4k total for yrs. never had a written lease. $600 a person for 10 of us. Just a handshake deal. Landowner never come around. His son turkeys hunts a bit. He uses it for timber sale income. Cuts little timber every yr an leaves me with fresh cutover to hunt yr after yr. family owns 800 acres next to it . Just family hunts on it . Costs nothing to hunt. I live next to this property. Never have drive my truck to hunt. Just walk or ride wheeler from house. Been thinking landowner would get wise to all the hunting lease prices an try do something different, but last yr told us we had it for next 10 yrs at same price. Unbelievable to me. I had a small 100 acres of timber company leased next to it at one time an they went to $12 acres an i dropped it . Thought that was outrageous but from reading this post i understand how really blessed we are as far as hunting. Timber company was from texas an said they based Lease price on average price in alabama. if i had pay over $1000 to hunt guess i would quit.
