There are several clubs along the MS river that are 500k and up to join. They are equity memberships, so you own a portion of the land. One is advertised for 1.3 million per share.

Some good clubs in South FL are $10000 a year. That will be something like 1000 acres per member and 2 bucks allowed, along with hogs and turkeys. It's supply and demand. Not a lot of land down there. Even @ $10000 a year, how much property can you buy for an $800 a month payment? Sure you could buy a decent small piece, but not what the rich folks are used to. They want a big piece, close to home with a wildlife biologist on staff.

Some people would rather have people they trust will take care of their property over money. They are few and far between these days unfortunately.

Exactly Neck, some will lease at a much reduced price to a small group that will take care and manage the property and not scorched earth hunt. I know I would.

Exactly right .We do take good care of property. I have picked up garbage that other people dumped, fixed gates, put out fires that people have set. Also brought dozer home to work on the roads that loggers torned up an built new plots. For no charge. We spend our on money on seed, locks, signs an that sort of thing.an we still getting a great deal.Landowner knows this. Tells me treat it like was mine an i do. Landowner only deals with me an dont have listen to any griping from hunters. We never really have any. We don t have any type of rules. We just try shoot older deer. I know this sort thing don t exist much nowadays.have people begging to hunt with us every year, but we just keep same few people with no problems.

I guess I'll just keep on hunting public land with the other poor folks. But I'd give my left nut to find 50 or 100 acres semi close to the house for my son to be able to hunt. Put in a greenfield or two and let him knock some down

We will burn that bridge when we get there

I’d rather have 5 acres of my own, than be in a lease and have to ask permission to do anything. But I’m weird like that.

I gave up the hunting club drama many years ago and don't miss a thing. Even the good clubs had drama. Something about deer hunting brings out the ahole in many people. Probably jealousy as everyone likes to think they are a better hunter than everyone else. I did learn a valuable lesson about being honest with people you don't know about what you are seeing. Told a guy about a nice buck I had seen during bow season and he moved into the area and I never could sign it out during gun. Next year told him same thing about an area I had never even been in and he camped out there too believeing there was a huge 11 pt. in the area haha.

I thought it was pretty cheap, too, for what's there and to be close. Not like they have to drive 4 hours to property and find gates destroyed or clubhouse burned.

Makes you wonder why the Water board didn't take bids and get what the market says it's worth. Just kidding. I'm not wondering. The guy obviously has the "right" connections.
