I got checked by the Dallas Cty warden last week. However he was nice enough not ruining a hunt. He made it very clear he was walking areas that were being hunted but was waiting until we were out of the woods. It's my understanding they are looking for corn. The "100 yard out of sight rule" seems to be getting a lot of folks tickets for hunting over bait. He said hands down that was his number 1 ticket. He explained to us it doesn't matter if corn is 100 yards and out of sight from stand. If he sees a track headed towards the corn he's writing a ticket. It also appears the judge hearing the cases are supporting the evidence he is providing. We don't feed anything on our property so he's welcome to look all he wants.

So the wardens are now writing tickets for something that's legal... Even though a hunter is going by the what the law says they're getting a ticket anyway.... They just need to go back to the way it was or legalize corn altogether...

What do you mean squeaky. If he sees a deer track headed towards the corn?
Get close, call soft

How do these wardens find y'all in your tree or are you hunting fixed position stands? I've always wondered. I could see it in a shooting house but not really in the woods unless they had found corn or something else you were hunting over. Never been checked but rarely hunt fixed stands either. I was jacked up about 35' in a tree when Steve came in to check me..He never seen me I said hey hey he looked up & whispered u got ur orange I pulled it out of my jacket he asked about license I said in my back pocket lol..He told me to be safe & Goodluck...

If a warden doesn't like the 100-yard-out-of-sight law, he will simply write tickets to fit his view of things.

The last time I got checked, I was about 30 feet up in a tree in some thinned large timber. I could see all the way back to my truck, which was probably 400 yards away. I saw him pull up to my truck and look in the bed of the truck. He then followed my tracks up the road to where I cut off the road into the woods. He began walking my way, looking for me in the trees, and I just whistled to let him know my location. He walked out there to me, whispered up to me to ask if I had some orange. I pulled my orange vest out of my pocket and showed him, then he asked me to drop my license down to him. I pulled it out of my wallet, and dropped it down to him. He checked it, left it at the bottom of the tree, and said good luck and left.
Had zero problem with him doing his job in that manner. That's been probably 7 or 8 years ago.

I would be willing to bet 99.999% of the people getting tickets are NOT following the rules. It is not out of sight or it is too close.
I agree.

Baiting in Alabama is illegal, period. This law was written to allow for secondary feeding. NOT BAITING So is legal to hunt 200 yards from a secondary feeding station, lmao

Baiting in Alabama is illegal, period. This law was written to allow for secondary feeding. NOT BAITING Please give me a scenario for placing a "secondary feeding station 101 yards away and out of site that is NOT concidered "Baiting". If you cant think of one then why did they put the 100 yard rule in and not 1000 yards? A green field is baiting. You put it out there. A planted corn field is baiting. You planted it. So any "secondary feeding station would have to be baiting too". I disagree with your theory.
