Your rut is a couple weeks away, Its just starting to get good. Sign showing up everywhere and you havnt hunted your stands because of south winds in 3 weeks. All the deer you let walk, all the trail cams and work comes down to the next 3 weeks. Now the weather is perfect and its time......then you find out that your president is hosting a disable hunter's hunt on your club this weekend that had never been mentioned before. No heads up at all. 1 week notice in a text that if your hunting club land that you have to report exactly where you will be because there will be visitors "all over the lease". I appreciate the cause and would have worked my butt off to help had this been a planned event that I was made aware of and early in the season. This may be the last straw for me. Im sick of club hoping but I just cant find one that is run correctly that has decent hunting. Am I wrong to feel this way? Any body in Pickens Co. or South Lamar need members next year?

I love the rut. The woods are like a bunch of roided up meatheads fighting over a girl.

I would go try and get some kid or disabled hunter on a monster, but that's just me...

Nothing wrong with the cause, but I also understand your problem with the timing of it and the notice. Not fair to members to bring any guest of any kind during the Rut. Those things should be done early in the season.
Also not fair to give so little notice.
Great cause though. I'd get on board with it this go round and make sure my feelings were known after the fact.

It is a good practice for clubs to hold a year end review right after season closes. Then address these kind of issues as a group. If the club manager/prez is unwilling to accommodate, then it's time to find a new club. It is fine if the members know ahead of time and all agree to host a hunt. But it is a bad decision to spring it on members mid-season.

It depends on the issue you are trying to resolve.
1. If it is about the president dropping unexpected events on the members - then IF the president is the "owner" of the club and if it is something that upsets you then your only option is to leave if he takes a totalitarian stance. If he is elected - then voice your concerns about these types of things happening late in the season, and while you may support the cause - you'd prefer they be scheduled and published prior to the opening of deer season.
2. If it is about you not being able to hunt some of your areas because someone else might be hunting "your deer" - then that is a personal problem and you need to find a place to hunt all by yourself.
IMO - it is a great cause, just bad timing - but, IF you are a dick about it - then you will look like a complete ass to not only the president, but to pretty much every single person that is a member of the club.
Personally - since I could care less about killing a deer, then I'd probably volunteer to take someone with me.

If I wasn't going to be there I would at least tell the where you would be hunting (your best place during the rut) and just don't show up. Then maybe they will not be around your spot you plan on hunting when you do.
