Yes, undercover prostitutes, bait cars, and undercover drug enforcement officers and I thank them for it. I'd hate to know what this country would be like without them.

Co-worker of mine shot the decoy in Dallas county many years ago. His family were large land owners and had given the state permission to set the decoy on their land where it fronted county roads. My friend was heading back to college one Sunday afternoon,...when there he stood, in all his glory, 200 yards off the road, with a doe (also a decoy). Both, with twitching tales and bobbing heads. It was his families land and nobody was in sight. Temptation took over. BOOM....nothing. BOOM again. He said when then rifle reported the second time, he realized the situation and what was about to happen. He had some explaining to do with his dad, uncle, grandfather etc. not sure if he got in any serious trouble. He did mention he made two perfect shots with his Steyr .270.

Ok, what about child predators/pedophiles? LEO's use false age and names to catch them online? Are you against that?
I hope you're the one that is "fuggin" kidding.

They got back to the deer, everyone grabbed a leg, and they started for the truck. About halfway, they stopped for a breather, and one of the guys commented that it was a good thing there were four of them to drag the deer out. The poacher, remembering how many people he had enlisted to help, said, "there aren't supposed to be but 3 of us dragging him out."

I can honestly say I have never had any inclinations of being a person who shot deer from the side of the road, or hunted at night. I have stopped on numerous occasions for a better look at a deer, but I don't stick around. To me, every opportunity I get to see them in the wild is a blessing. As far as harvesting goes, I'll save that for the stand.

The land I grew up on was surrounded by unethical hunters, and I grew to hate them with a passion. I always believed in doing it right.

When I first started taking my son with me to hunt public land, I made it a point to let him speak to and be curtious and respectful to the GW's at the check stations where we were hunting.I explained to him that the law wasn't there to keep him from doing anything, but thaey were there to try and keep him safe and insure that the game that he was hunting were protected from people that didn't have his best interest as a priority.
I can't stand to hear some of my buddies say "uh oh... theres the game warden"... you shouldn't be worried if you aren't doing anything wrong.
I had a run in with a GW on the Cahaba mgt area a couple years ago that involved hunting a baited field. I had no idea the field was baited and after a conversation, was let go and told where another good spot was that I could hunt the remainder of the afternoon.
Honesty and respect go a long way.

I'll add to that something not many people realize, but good agencies will sometimes conduct "integrity checks" where they stage drug bust that recover large sums of money. They know how much money and drugs were seized and that same amount better be turned in to evidence. They especially do this when they suspect something isn't kosher in the department. Just another tool to weed out the bad officers that some people act like are rampant in LE work. I'll be the first to admit some slip through the cracks, but not nearly as many as some people would like to believe.

somebody told me there was a restriction on the number of points and rack size the decoy could have. Is there any truth to that?

idiots in charge made a rule that the rack had to be no larger than six points, no big trophy racks.

Mine had removeable antlers so we carried several sets, including a big set to show folks. We just didn't use the big one. It really didn't matter what size the antlers were, or if it had antlers to most of he shooters.

BhamFred, have you ever stopped anyone for doing absolutely nothing wrong but was riding down a paved road doing the speed limit at 1:30 in the morning, just because it was suspicious that a truck was riding around at 1:30 in the morning? Just wondering if this was regular game warden protocol or not.

not under the circumstances you laid out.

A LEO has to have a reason to stop a vehicle, speeding...driving erratically...earlier complaints about that vehicle...tag light out...something to articulate to the court JUdge when it gets to court.

You can stop a vehicle that is "suspicious", but you had better be very, very articulate (I can't stress this enough) in being able to explain why they were "suspicious", what crime they may have committed, and why you think they may have committed it. Your explanation had not ever mention their race, or any other characteristic that can be used in "profiling". It is a very slippery slope.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

We were on our way from one camp to another camp after eating dinner then hanging out with friends very late when we were stopped. They told us that the truck were in met the description of a truck that was night hunting. I guess that is a catch all and any LEO or Game Warden could use that anytime they wanted to. We spent 45 mins in the ditch being interrogated like criminals, they searched us and the truck for anything they could find to make a charge. They even tried to say some crap about COW antibiotics that were in the console. It was a cowboys truck and there was guns inside mostly lever action open site cowboy guns, Oh then they stalked my Facebook page, and its gotten back to me by two different people that I was a night hunter and he was watching me. Needless to say they could not find anything illegal in the truck and there interrogation led to no confessions to wrong doings but I was told quote. "If I didn't want to spend the night in the Montgomery Co. Jail that I better not ever get caught riding around these roads again in the middle of the night" This was last January and I was the rider in the truck.
